Proud of our migrant care worker members travelling from Wales to Birmingham to leaflet in Shabana Mahmood’s constituency over plans to make people wait longer to settle in the UK.

This year marks 100 years since the 1926 General Strike, with the national event being held in Barnsley.
Striking workers from the National Coal Mining Museum and the Caring Voices Choir will be playing a part in the day! 🙌
So please, do not answer the question that absolutely nobody is asking. To meddle in this way could have very bad consequences. That is a known known. Because as fans, we’ve been there before.

Democracy will not come Today, this year Nor ever Through compromise and fear. I have as much right As the other fellow has To stand On my two feet And own the land. I tire so of hearing people say, Let things take their course. Tomorrow is another day. I do not need my freedom when I'm dead. I cannot live on tomorrow's bread. Freedom Is a strong seed Planted In a great need. I live here, too. I want freedom Just as you. Langston Hughes

That's a vote against day-one sick pay, against guaranteed hours, against fire-and-rehire protections and against bereavement leave.

What happened in Barnet should be a warning for Wales. ⚠️
Our new report, Barnet’s outsourcing nightmare: Dan Thomas’ track record in local government, sets out the consequences of outsourcing on a huge scale: rising costs, weakened scrutiny and staff and residents paying the price.

However incompetent you think the Home Office are, there is always another level that they can reach.
At Westminster, Reform would repeal the Employment Rights Act and the Equality Act. In Wales, they back pay freezes and headcount cuts.
Every one of those policies makes life harder for workers and easier for bosses.
That is who Reform are. ✊🏽

New Welsh laws mean public spending should create local jobs, training and wider community benefit.
Reform says remove them.
Public money should serve the public, not leave communities as private profit. 🏘️

Reform wants academy and free school pilots in Wales, taking schools out of the control of local people and giving them to private companies.
In England, that model has meant less accountability, more fragmentation and weaker terms for staff.
Someone really ought to do something about this 🤔

The Equality Act protects equal pay, pregnancy rights, disability adjustments and protection from discrimination at work.
Reform want to scrap it.
That says it all. ⚖️
