One time, me, @louismirante.bsky.social and @intensifiedzeal.bsky.social saw Dunkirk at the Tower and the only other people in the theater were Attorney General Xavier Becerra and his family. We let them enjoy a great Nolan flick in peace. That man, our future governor? Maybe.
What if Xavier Becerra is the candidate we've been waiting for?
Sacramento once again performing that psy-op where the weather is perfect

I seem to recall you saw it at the Tower though...
It really hit for me but yeah it was a bit all over the place. Agree with @seung.bsky.social here overall. Also really loved seeing in theaters because it was a bit of a sensory experience with the art and sound. I guess every one of his films are but that one in particular leaned heavily on this.

Caltrans is calling this highway expansion development a βvision zeroβ project.
Iβll be muttering βVision Zero Acceleration Laneβ to myself like a Koan for the rest of my life now probably.

This is awesome. Sacramento has a great 311 service as well. I really appreciate the people who work there.

Why are the Roman Soldiers posting a tribute to a refugee executed by the state?
There is no way that tweetsofsteve account isn't a psyop. That last post is worded too perfectly
In bulk electric system planning & operations, it's much easier to find the reverse: things the general public universally agree on but remain a "hot take" among experts/practitioners.
Whether or not one party is "right" or "wrong" is another story.

Personally if I had a kid and that kid had an e-bike I would be worried about that kid getting hit by a driver with the freedom to travel in their vehicle at lethal speeds. But that's just me π www.abridged.org/news/sacrame...

Can we save Los Angeles (and the rest of the state from itself?
We can try.
"You don't build, we're not gonna fund" is exactly the right response when it comes to recalcitrant cities that refuse to follow and implement state housing law.
Restricting their funding is the only way to actually bring them to heel. Kudos to @governor.ca.gov for setting the tone on this.

UCSB has a serious geography department that gets way less attention in social sciences & policy bc it's focused on methods and physical geog

I do think the high-wage job market is the area it suffers the most. Healthcare and higher ed can only take us so far. Though maybe this is mainly because it's easy to use the bay as the comparison.
I wish someone would commission another report like this from 2018. www.brookings.edu/articles/cha...
