“This is not a coherent set of arguments at all. It is not a philosophy. It is not a set of intelligible ethics. Rather, it is a list of angry reactions to being yelled at—given a somber voice and dressed up as some sort of wondrous work of intellect.”
Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.

Happy birthday to #geochemist Charles David Keeling (1928 - 2005) 🧪🐡⚒️ #histsci whose decades long observations of CO2 in air samples from Mauna Loa Observatory were some of the 1st direct data to show the human contribution to greenhouse effect & global warming. If you watch and share one thing today make at this. Why is every democrat in the country not talking like this?
Lou Zocchi with his ventriloquism dummy, Woody.
The legendary game designer, distributor, and publisher Louis Zocchi has left us at the age of 91. He founded Zocchi Distribution (the first distributor dedicated exclusively to hobby games) and Gamescience (which made games and polyhedral dice).
🚨 Trump claims a U.S. Navy destroyer intercepted an Iranian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman—and says U.S. forces “blew a hole in the engine room” after the crew refused orders—adding the vessel is now in U.S. custody.
If true, that’s a direct military strike despite a supposed ceasefire.
It’s just frustrating to see the media refuse to acknowledge that views like this exist. This guy is pretty regularly quoted as a “concerned therapist“
Opening text of a thread by Palantir from X Because we get asked a lot. The Technological Republic, in brief. 1. Silicon Valley owes a moral debt to the country that made its rise possible. The engineering elite of Silicon Valley has an affirmative obligation to participate in the defense of the nation. 2. We must rebel against the tyranny of the apps. Is the iPhone our greatest creative if not crowning achievement as a civilization? The object has changed our lives, but it may also now be limiting and constraining our sense of the possible. 3. Free email is not enough. The decadence of a culture or civilization, and indeed its ruling class, will be forgiven only if that culture is capable of delivering economic growth and security for the public. 4. The limits of soft power, of soaring rhetoric alone, have been exposed. The ability of free and democratic societies to prevail requires something more than moral appeal. It requires hard power, and hard power in this century will be built on software.
Palantir put out a 22-point summary of their CEO's book The Technological Republic. It's pitched as a defence of the West, but if you read it through the VDA framework, verification, deliberation, accountability, what it's actually doing looks rather different.

Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

Democrats planning to run in November’s midterm elections have been advised not to antagonise pro-AI campaign groups that have amassed more than $300mn to fight for the industry’s priorities. The warnings by top party consultants, corroborated by people close to four different campaigns and party strategists speaking on the condition of anonymity, come despite internal polling for Democrats showing widespread public support for tougher AI rules.
They're calling it the best democracy ever.

Hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.
A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.
In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."
Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here

Media and universities: AI is here to stay
Banning algorithmic pricing ought to be a no-brainer call for any government: people don’t like to be ripped off, surveilled, or treated differently from their peers.
Algorithm pricing does all three of those things.

Wile E. Coyote hovering in air after running off a cliff. He looks concerned and is holding up a sign that say "Happy Tax Day." Caption reads: Coyote vs. Acme Trailer Coming Next Week
The long-awaited Coyote vs. Acme will finally get a trailer next week, it was revealed in a Tax Day social media post. https://bit.ly/3QGy4UM
Rewatch complete of one of the biggest surprises of the past few years. Top to bottom an amazing cast with Pine bringing the charm and Rodriguez bringing the heart in one of my favorite performances from her. Filled with humor, fantasy and unexpectedly great stylized action.
Today I proposed banning "surveillance pricing" — a creepy practice where corporations weaponize your personal data to rip you off. Deeply disappointed the motion was rejected. Canadians are already being crushed by sky-high costs. They deserve relief, not corporate exploitation.
It happened again. Asked another top Republican if he knew how many Americans have been killed by Israel.
He responded by pledging his support for Israel:
Stephen Miller almost says that Trump is seeking a "final solution" in Iran but then catches himself
A new poster for Coyote Vs. Acme has been revealed at CinemaCon as well as confirmation that the first trailer will be dropping next week. It is so surreal this is finally coming out, but I am more than hyped given all it went through! I cannot wait to see this!
