They never want to let you speak to anybody competent because they're two expensive.

I once phoned up to tell Virgin precisely which one of the T1 lines from Luton to Cambridge was down, because I was losing half my packets and their engineers used sensible naming schemes.

Sadly, neither do we. At least until the hardware firewall I ordered this morning arrives. Or we start paying Cloudflare to do what our ISP should be capable of.

Matt's (a highly rated business provider he pays over the odds for to get better support) has suggested we deal with the DDOS attack we've been suffering for 36 hours by switching the router off for an hour and hoping it goes away.

DDOS mitigation appears to be something they've never heard of

The technology itself doesn't require you to steal. That's just these arseholes trying to make themselves rich.

But for an example: it's quite good at analysing cell samples to identify cancer. There are other examples.
