LLNL has an interesting vision of the future of HPC and workflows that aligns with a lot of what I heard at ISC: #HPC is no longer just the supercomputer, but the end-to-end services and ecosystem that enable discovery. The description is in Attachment (1) here: hpc.llnl.gov/fg-hpcc-rfi

What’s in a HPC Scheduler Are HPC schedulers still fit for purpose? Are we building monoliths with high levels of lock in? Do we have the interoperability we need?

What’s in a #HPC scheduler?

I've been pulling together some attempts at writing. I have a whole series on latency at many layers of the technology stack, this was a deviation from that subject matter and it's my first article that I've published publicly. Let me know what you think. www.linkedin.com/pulse/salt-t...

I'm hiring #HPC

I don’t want a cover letter, or a CV. We don’t do LeetCode 🤮, we don’t have ten stage interview process or 6hr coding assignment. Just make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date.

There is a catch though

Surprise! It’s Microsoft’s new four-socket AMD CPU with HBM node. 6.9 TB/s of STREAM bandwidth to a ton of Zen 4 cores.

Given that UE is open and the number of vendors that are committed to being products to market. I think it will not only lead but significantly reduce the cost. I'm excited to see the novel use cases as barriers to entry drop.
