Thanks for writing. My main emotion these days, above all else, is gratitude and appreciation for my mom. She prepared me well. I take solace also that her passing was peaceful, at home, and she lived a long life. I also had a great visit with her at Christmas. Merci encore Philippe.

This year, I had some spare $ to spend, and always get pleasure supporting anarchist and community-based distributors. There is always a lot of free stuff too.

Tomorrow (holiday Monday) in Montreal: An Anti-Fascist People's Picnic & BBQ, with activities for kids. Rendez-vous: 10am (arrive early), until 2pm at Parc Lafontaine. Everyday anti-fascism means, in part, taking up these spaces in our city, and by doing so, displacing the far-right & fascists.

Guess what? I understand Canada's political process. But, him coming in person, from the UK, speaks volumes, symbolically and practically (as opposed to the GG). Aside from re-affirming Canada's vassal status, the "King" doesn't quite have the same positive connotation in Quebec and elsewhere.

Prime Minister #Carney inviting this corporate-colonial welfare bum to give the key speech about the Canadian state's priorities is hardly an assertion of independence against #Trump imperialism. It just re-affirms that Canada is an artificial neo-colonial construct. #cdnpoli #NotMyKing
