"Are we building the right thing?" is a question as old as engineering itself. GenAI made it easier than ever to skip. Time to start asking again.

Congratulations. I hope it becomes your little slice of paradise.
Who could be mad at a face like that? 🤣
Claudia Badell wrote an article on the Holistic Testing Model- definitely worth a read. qadrive.com/blog/holisti...
If this tweaks your interest and you'd like more information, Lisa Crispin and I have a book about it available on LeanPub and Amazon. You can find more on our website agiletester.ca/
Why the story of the viral skateboard-to-car, agile in a nutshell, image needs an unhappy ending...
You’ve probably seen Henrik Kniberg's skateboard-to-car sketch a thousand times. But, not with this version of the story behind it...

elimination of privacy to a whole new level. I miss my winters in the southern US, but .... I've found other sunny warm places.
Our youngest grandchild has recently been doing something similar and our daughter was complaining about it ... We just replied "Payback!"
This article is worth reading. Thank you @fionaccharles.bsky.social for sharing.
Gáspár Nagy and I had a short, fun conversation with @lisacrispin.bsky.social and @janetgregoryca.bsky.social of The Testing Fellowship.
And they recorded it :)

I ask that often - when I am 'forced' to use a phone app for something. The 1rst time was many years ago in London when the phone app seemed to be the only way to pay for street parking. Someone said to me - if they don't have a phone, they likely don't have a car. Talk about huge assumptions.
What a great idea. Outside, creative, fun play.
I won't be there, so I'll say "hi" now. :-)
MEAP cover for Effective Behavior-Driven Development from Manning
Gáspár Nagy and I are very happy to announce that our new book, Effective Behavior-Driven Development, is now available from Manning: hubs.la/Q03L7kXM0
This book includes updated content previously self-published in The BDD Books Series along with an all new section, BDD Automation Patterns.
Amazing creativity.
I've had too many times where I've watched the phone not scan... I too print my tickets as backup based on years of experience.
For sure I miss friends I made, but I do keep in touch with many through social media and video calls. I haven't completely "retired". But, I no longer teach or consult, or travel to conferences. And that feels right to me.
"Work to live" vs "Live to work". I really don't miss working full time anymore. I am enjoying having time doing my projects without having to fit them into my schedule. But retirement without a plan isn't a good thing.
Here's hoping all your important decisions should be so mundane!🤣
Our latest @agiletfellow.bsky.social Donkeys & Dragons video chat is available! @janetgregoryca.bsky.social and I talk with the awesome Brittany Stewart about testing, AI and much more - we squeezed a lot into 15 minutes! www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxL6...
Our July @agiletfellow.bsky.social blog post is up! @janetgregoryca.bsky.social and I look at task-switching. Are there any scenarios where it can work? What is your experience? agiletestingfellow.com/blog/post/ta... #HolisticTesting #AgileTesting
An amazing experience for teams to have such great coaching opportunities.
Congratulations - a good article with plenty to think about.
In our latest @agiletfellow.bsky.social video chat, @janetgregoryca.bsky.social and I had a wonderful conversation with @annemariecharrett.com. We talk about her awesome new book, _The Quality Coach's Handbook_. Lots packed into ~15ish minutes! www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIQy...
15 years in QA taught me this:
The best testing prevents bugs, not just finds them.
Quality isn't a phase - it's a mindset that shapes every step of development.
Happy 4th of July to all my friends in the U.S.
Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there!
I have a paper and pen by my side all the time too. There is something about being able to sketch out a problem that I need.
Asking better questions is so important. And thanks for sharing.
I'm sad that you don't think a book on testing might help them 🤣 That said in jest, but in truth, they really do need to understand - @lisacrispin.bsky.social and I wrote Agile Testing Condensed and later Holistic Testing to help all roles to understand how testing fits in.
You mean it should be automatic? Yes, I agree and I know many programmers who develop their code that way. Unfortunately, it is not all.
