Donald Trump’s immigrant wives | CNN Politics It’s more than a little ironic that a guy as hardline on immigration as Donald Trump has been surrounded by immigrants his entire life.

We should highlight that he is only against certain immigrants. Not those like his parents and wives. Would be interesting to explore what the differences are from immigrants he is targeting versus those he loves and married. 😳 www.cnn.com/2015/08/24/p...

Shoot, these Non-DEI hires are incompetent, embarrassing, and oh, lying? Maybe we should go back to hiring qualified people????

Fareed’s take: Trump’s war on colleges | CNN Politics American higher education and research lead the world. And yet, from cutting research funding to attacking free speech, the Trump administration has declared war on colleges, Fareed says. He argues th...

DJT & JDV are attacking U.S. universities -undermining ability of institutions to teach & research. Not just about dismantling diversity, equity & inclusion, but also defunding the important and life saving research our public institutions perform for broader society.

Just a reminder to people of color and also those with differing abilities (and those whose identities overlap) - we DO NOT have to justify our existence. We DO NOT have to engage. We DO have to take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. Sending lots of love πŸ’œ

β€œHow people who are underpaid or unemployed are unable to pay for city services that corporations & millionaires should be paying for with their taxes. But aren’t because of loopholes.” There. Fixed the title (for free). @nytimes.com

Graph titled: Changes in arrest and imprisonment of older adults in the last 30 years

1 in 10 people booked into jail are 55 years+

The graying of the US carceral system is extremely alarming. Most older adults are arrested for low-level, non-violent offenses like trespassing, driving offenses, and disorderly conduct

Someone shared this with me, and I think it's beautiful. That's what I wish for everyone I love and appreciate in this New Year 2025, that your life is filled with an abundance of real luxuries. ❀️

Banning homeless camping is the stupidest policy response to addressing housing, mental health, employment, & substance needs. And then adding criminal attachment & fines??? Where is the common sense?

Data that actually illustrates what cities, counties and states are doing (and not doing) to address social problems are the least available data.

One big problem are costs related to EM. Start up fee, rental fee, monthly fee. Real alternatives to incarceration shouldn’t cost money and should help people develop skills, access treatment, education, housing, employment. These are real alternatives for both accountability and public safety.

Monetary Sanctions as a Pound of Flesh | Faculti How does the punishing practice of monetary sanctions highlight the unequal relationship between the state and its citizens, especially the poor and marginalized?

Have you ever attended a research talk & cried? I accidentally did today. A student in the Q&A -boldly & vulnerably- told the candidate that she saw herself in her, that she, a Black woman, inspired her with her research and engagement in the real world. #RepresentationMatters πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ #KamrynSMorris

Key question is which communities in the U.S. are living under a police state? Which communities are disparately patrolled, prosecuted, convicted, incarcerated, supervised, and indebted to the state? All as a result of - at least in part- law enforcement.
