A pro-affordability, anti-Trump-corruption message unites the party. Every candidate can run on that, and every candidate can have their own take to fit that to their constituents. There's really no need to find fights to pick when the party agrees on more than it disagrees

ah, perhaps instead of pumping millions into endless factional infighting Dem donors could invest in making local Dem organizations genuine civic spaces that can reach people during and between elections
*whispers* you can continue to read me, the pundit who insisted the other pundits were wrong about these conclusions

I see why it’s said that nice people make the best Nazis, because what’s happening now in the US wouldn’t be possible without the polite silence or cordial complicity of great masses of people
opening tiktok again like
sometimes I just can’t comprehend the number of people (particularly in the Democratic Party) who have failed us. How has it been YEARS of watching the hatred and lying and corruption and somehow the conclusion people come to is “well we can’t do anything other that what we’ve tried”
we’re working on the brotherly bond 😭😻✨💜
☀️❤️ good morning from us
Elections have consequences.
Ok this is frustrating to me. Why do we keep blaming the voters here. We should be able to trust the news and the govt. how about we start working on making laws that regulate media and govt so we know they can’t fucking lie and can be trusted sources?
the great thing about learning to bake is you can just make yourself cookies for breakfast whenever you want
now he lives inside full time, sleeps literally on top of me every night, and gets extra pets and cuddles whenever he wants
three years ago Casper was brave enough to come inside and eat next to me but was still terrified of me touching him
A picture of a tweet from Kim Renfro that says: every time I put on Max Richters' LEFTOVERS score to get into a good writing mood (like now), I think about how I once told Damon Lindelof mid-interview that I listen to the show's score a lot. "I'm sorry to hear that," he said. "You must be a very sad person." he wasn't wrong💀
also, I need to preserve this over here

Casper is like my little guilty remnant companion. But somehow the opposite at the same time?
my favorite show of all time. I’ve rewatched it twice since the start of COVID and….yeah
I think more Americans should watch these kinds of clips and realize this is all the GOP wants to do. Instead of actually help people, they invent problems and scream at public servants and citizens about and pretend that’s a normal way to govern a country
question: I feel like the relationship of the audience to movies has changed in the past ten or 15 years. They expect the movie to come to them. answer: Absolutely. They’d rather go home and turn on their TV and see a film that way. And let’s face it, a certain kind of corruption comes in because people go home and they shop around on these streaming platforms. There’s some good things about the platforms. They create a lot of movies. They create a lot of jobs. But there’s so many distractions that you can’t enter the stuff. People watch five minutes of something and they say, “I’m not really into it” and they go to another thing. “I’m not really into it.” Then another thing. “I’m not really into it.” Then they go to bed. If you don’t put in the effort, you’re not going to receive much. And the discourse gets lowered, and everything gets a little more dumbed down and then that’s when the ruffians come in, and they’re the ones with energy and stupidity and then they can crush all the thoughtful people. That’s not good for culture, and that’s not good for humanity. We see the results of that all the time.

In addition to being an active alcoholic and a serial abuser of women, Pete Hegseth belongs to the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, or CREC, which is explicitly anti-suffrage and pro-marital-rape.
the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment
Chase Strangio spoke with @zachstafford.bsky.social before making history at the Supreme Court today.
It’s important for us to listen to what trans people have to say about what’s going on. And to follow their guidance.
I’d argue this includes arguments that claim Democrats did poorly in election because “we focused too much on identity politics.” Republicans aren’t the only ones who dog whistle.
Further, Dems generally did NOTHING to defend trans people from the onslaught of rhetoric and ads from Republicans.
It made me physically ill following updates from the Supreme Court today. Sending love to trans people, trans kids especially, and their families because… whew. Enduring this kind of hostility is an experience us cisgender will never fully understand.

When I turned around, I realized the bakery owner (my boss, obviously) had been watching me. She gave me a scolding about giving away free items and I paid for the tea out of my next check. Lmao. Capitalism in a nutshell for you!!
I think I was like 20 or 21 at the time. On Christmas Eve, my last shift before flying home for the holidays, one of the guys came in and ordered a large tea. I made it for him, but at the register I refused his $1.50 and said “Merry Christmas!”
