Also worth noting that Rep. Tomaszewski is one of the hardcore Christian nationalist lawmakers who's in that seat in large part because John Binkley wrote the Fairbanks-area election maps, skewing a Democratic-leaning district just enough.

All said and done with a few $500-300 electric bills in the dead of winter when we had to keep our electric crawlspace heater on to protect the pipes we had a couple of $1000 months for utilities this winter just for heating and electric

The wood was about $1000
for 2 cords as well- we probably have a cord left going into next year and had a cord leftover from last winter going into this year. Our house is relatively small at 1100 sq ft and is extremely well insulated so that helps keep costs down along w rooftop solar

Got our first post war in Iran heating oil bill today- $1100 for 190 gallons of heating oil. Granted we haven’t had to fill up since November, but still steep. Usually it’s $600-700

Chronicles of budgeting during Fairbanks coldest winter in 100 years- we mostly heat with wood

Chris makes a lot of sense here. Not like we're doing any better than they are. Not by a damn sight.

17 votes to make oil & gas S-Corps pay the same taxes as C-Corps. So 17 votes to get $100 million or more for Alaska's schools. 23 votes to instead hand that money to a billionaire in Texas.

Over 40 guns seized after SWAT standoff at Fairbanks home amid alleged union hall attack plot A Fairbanks man accused of threatening an attack on a labor union hall was charged with two counts of second-degree terroristic threatening after Alaska State Troopers said they found more than 40 firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition at his home.

A plot to shoot up a Fairbanks union hall and kill union members was reportedly stopped this week.

This kind of violence has no place in Alaska or anywhere in this country.

I stand with my union brothers and sisters who were targeted.

I applied to a similar spread- Dartmouth/ Brown, Boston college, University of Washington Seattle and University of Vermont. Felt like the right number, got into all but Dartmouth. In hindsight shouldn’t have gone to Brown- flamed out of premed there hard, would have made it elsewhere

On further inspection it sounds like he’s a retired laborer so that may be part of it, other grievances. But still shocking and very very concerning
