D.C. has more residents than two U.S. states. They pay more per capita in federal taxes than any other state.
But they don’t get a serious seat at the table to decide how they’re governed.
D.C. statehood now.
I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
Tell me again how I have to try to keep High School students from using it?!?

A student asked how to focus on the solar system amid [everything]. I told her it's crucial to make room for wonder, even now. It's kind of like noticing how blue the sky is when you're falling off a cliff - it doesn't save you, but it's nice to feel something other than fear, if only for a moment.
