A closeup of Plankton from Spongebob sitting on the shoulder of his robot wife Karen. He is holding a glass of champagne and wearing a suit with rolled up sleeves. The model was made in Blender, which is a 3D software but the image looks like a drawing.

Here's a quick WIP for my next video!

I haven't made a model in about 9 months so it's nice to be doing them again! #blender #b3d

I know I'm not too active here because I've been busy finishing this, but Adjustable Mannequin v1.3 is FINALLY finished!

I've added Adustable Fantasy Body Parts which allow you to easily create customisable Wings, Horns, Ears and Tails! #blender #b3d

I think this is my new favourite feature of the Adjustable Mannequin!

There are now dedicated breast bones so you can pose them, or use something like the Wiggle Bones addon to simulate gravity for more realistic results when posing or animating! #blender #b3d

A side by side comparison of Bulma from Dragonball Z. The left model is a rough 3D model using a mannequin to get the proportions and pose in place. The right piece is a drawing of Bulma in her yellow outfit following the same hand on hip pose from the 3D model reference

I'm just about finished with v1.3 of my Adjustable Mannequin, so I decided to test it out by making a 3D reference for my Bulma drawing!

It stills take a lot of work to finish the drawing, but the mannequin provides such a solid base!

Drawing of Link from the Legend of Zelda holding the Master Sword over his shoulder

Drawing of Link from the Legend of Zelda holding the Master Sword over his shoulder

Drawing is SO difficult! I could probably model this in #Blender in a few days, but it took me equally as long to draw this!

I think my lineart isn't too bad, but my rendering is quite messy. Does anybody have any recommendations for learning how to shade/render?

Here's a showcase of all of the Adjustable Fantasy Body Parts that will be included as part of the new update for my Adjustable Mannequin!

The Fantasy stuff will also be available separately if you just wanted those! #blender #b3d

Working on finalizing the Fantasy update for my Adjustable Mannequin!

It's always fun seeing the different parts come together and how quickly you can visualise a concept! #blender #b3d

A closeup of Link and Pikachu based on Trudi Castle's artwork. Link is holding Pikachu's hand. The artwork looks like it was drawn with colouring pencils in a child-like storybook style

A Wireframe view of Link and Pikachu. All you can see is the silhouette of the two characters but you can see a grid covering their entire bodies and these are the faces that were create in Blender to make the characters in 3D

Here's some closeups because the video compression kills all of the details! The modelling was pretty basic but the textures really brought it to life! #blender #b3d

I'll be posting some of my old stuff in case people have never seen them, starting with this Link and Pikachu 3D model I made based on @trudicastle.bsky.social's awesome artwork!

The sketchy look was a lot of fun to recreate in 3D! #blender #b3d

Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio
Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024

By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved

With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1

For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1)

And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!

btw for everyone joining bsky today but worried about trying to find their friends from back on twitter: ✨ sky follower bridge ✨ is an extension on chrome and firefox that lets you sort through your following on twitter to see if any of them have associated bsky accounts

I don't animate in the usual sense, but I do create turnarounds for all of my models! I do some basic animations for some of them, but mostly they're static!

I think it's time to finally be active on here!

I'm Niall and I (try to) make 3D models that look 2D using Blender!

I also make tools and other stuff to try and help 3D artists with making characters!

All of the images below are actually 3D models! #blender #b3d
