I only saw the Soviet version of Solaris (by Tarkovsky) but it definitely makes sense as an inspiration! Very different tone and theme but the influence is undeniable

As for WH40K... I always thought the connection ("EH is a prequel to the game" theory) is a joke. Never knew it was an influence :))

EH still has some of the most disturbing imagery of any movie I know. It's great
