"I'll... be back in five." kalla quietly says, "stay here, friend."

flying high, a webcomic by queen melodis, page 40. kalla's flashback through her memories continues from the last page. in the next vision, she is in a hospital bed next to tanja, her bird friend. they are laughing together. in the final vision, alexis, her tigress friend, holds out a medallion towards her, saying "it's a gift. it's yours now. you get to decide where to go from here. life deserves to be lived, and i want you to live." back to the present, kalla's bloody claw holds said medallion, broken in half, as she stands above the form of erika, who is holding her hand over her wound. "no," thinks kalla, "it's... I... I'm..." as she hears sirens in the background, she spreads her wings and shoots off into the night sky above the city, leaving erika and the zoo behind. "what have i done?" thinks kalla as the moonlight reflects off her claws.

Been rather sick since getting home but here's a little doodle while I recover c:

flying high, a webcomic by queen melodis. page 39 kalla raises her sharp talons high and slams them down into erika's gut. blood spurts out into the air. for a moment, kalla snaps out of her rage and sees her own claws coated in blood. tears fall from her eyes as she gasps and pants. she remembers things about her past. all of the faces are shrouded in smoke, due to the negative feelings associated with these memories. watching my little pony: friendship is magic for the first time and seeing queen chrysalis reveal herself, amazed, while onlookers say "isn't that show like 100 years old?" her parents incredulously talking to her, saying "change gender? that's..." "weird" "why?" her mother angrily shouting and pointing, "first the... trans thing, now you're taking meds behind out backs to become some sort of freaky monster?" a businessman telling her "sorry, says here you're a registered therian. we don't hire... please understand, it's..." and then the words are tuned out. kalla walking dejectedly out of her parents' home for the last time, tent and bedroll on her back, with a small suitcase, crying. still crying, but as a changeling now, approaching her tent in the park.
