Wrote about Souta Ueno as one of the most radical new voices in anime, and how despite his extreme idiosyncrasy, he engages very humbly with source material. In Shiboyugi, he commits to the subjective experience of one disenfranchised girl and her demented world blog.sakugabooru.com/2026/04/10/s...
We also published the translation of an interview featuring Ueno and Shiboyugi sound director Konuma. Highly informative about how unorthodox creators envision their work, and also funny as hell to see a director almost method acting their way into depression blog.sakugabooru.com/2026/04/10/s...

Intent & texture are disappearing from anime's linework. There are many factors : tools & technology (digital douga, especially in practice), the idea of "good animation" straying away from the drawings, and even mentorship - younger generations learning in an era where this aspect isn't prioritized
This was a personal choice. I opened Studio Grackle on a whim, and one day I realized my heart wasn’t in it anymore.
We’re all still here and all still making animation. Grackle was just a name to unite under for a time.
Thank you all for your support over the years. 🖤
This was the last trailer we made together at Studio Grackle. It never felt right to say it before the release, but I closed the studio a year ago.
Thank you to @supergiantgames.bsky.social for always supporting us, and being the best creative partner I could’ve ever asked for.

It's funny that Jaadugar is treating its own premise, which is historical events, as a spoiler to dance around. But even when they still mostly show the very beginning, it looks sooooooooo good www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUOW...
The first episode of "Jaadugar : A Witch in Mongolia" will premiere in June at Annecy Festival (France).

Pude ajudar um pouco no episódio 12 de "Fate Strange/Fake" como animador-chave secundário. Obrigado ao 'Luv Letter Studios' pela oportunidade de retornar a série! 🙇🏽

Adapting a popular title *and* a videogame at that would often shackle creative teams, which is why it fucking rules that Sekiro decided to throw common sense out the window & double down on something this radical
Participei do episódio dessa semana de 'Tamon's B-side?' como animador-chave secundário. Fui creditado com o meu nome real desta vez. 😁 Obrigado à toda equipe por ter me dado a oportunidade de retornar a série!

Shotaro Kitamura proved the potential he showed in individual episodes by granting Makeine a mystical sense of place you wouldn't expect from a romcom, and Honoka Yokoyama's glamour multiplied after becoming a Kappe disciple. Dream team for a series about makeup? www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECI_...
Pude ajudar no episódio dessa semana de "Scum of the Brave" como um dos animadores-chave secundários. Obrigado a equipe pela oportunidade!

All my condolences about the passing of KyoAni founder & president Hideaki Hatta. No exaggeration to say that he's been one of the most important individuals in the history of this industry, especially if you consider that he also had a hand in IG's inception www.kyotoanimation.co.jp/information/...

then you should at least consider that the most common reason to work under pseudonyms is contract reasons. Sometimes they're widely known & hiding nothing, but even then, the reasoning is professional - the fact that working in anime is a JOB is something these people also don't really understand
Nothing is done thinking about the guy who screams at credit lists they can't read when they see the 3 names they recall from other shonen hits. These things are made by people who have actual preoccupations. And if you don't know about the specifics of unfortunate cases (good, privacy is a thing),
Embarrassing example of the commodification of artists through this new wave of "sakuga discourse" (hypeposting about action anime) is joking about a person working under a different name after going through a rough patch wrt mental health. Wanting a clean start is not "a bad attempt at fooling you"
