It’s not "normal" to pretend a disease doesn’t exist—or nothing can be done to reduce harm.
Leaving kids, communities, and ourselves exposed isn’t “moving on,” it’s neglect, coerced, morally repugnant, indifference.
If that upsets you, ask yourself: are you an arseolist?

My Grandpa told me horror stories of his experience with influenza in WW1 when he was in Paris. He barely got out alive.
My Grandpa told me stories about his bout of flu during WW1 in Paris. That flu was special, but are we sure we want a bunch of febrile hacking people fighting stupid illegal wars?
It looks like they took into account people who got an illness within 6 years. That was clever.
What biomarker would you pick for HFpEF? I like functional testing like a 6 min walk test since exercise intolerance is what patients care about. A bunch of Echo numbers would be okay too. Spironolactone already lost the hyperkalemia fight I guess.
I sure would like to see Spironolactone and Finerenone duke it out head to head.
How do you control for the fact that people capable of vigorous exercise are likely to be healthier?
Valid point
In my area, by Thanksgiving flu is usually surging, although those bad covid years made it more complicated. Fun game. I hope your symptoms are better today.
I always get my flu shot as late as possible. I watch cases and don’t go until I see them shooting up. My worst flu was a late March one when I was an intern. My September shot the previous year didn’t do much.
Yay ACEP! I was hoping they would get involved. A lot of residents in all specialties are at risk of abduction. This is bad for patients. Even MAGA patients.
Typhoon #Sinlaku topped out with 155 kt winds, very close to its Maximum Potential Intensity (MPI), based on the existing ocean temperatures and atmospheric profiles of temperature and humidity. Rare to see a storm reach its MPI. Graphic from tropic.ssec.wisc.edu
Good job testing. I hope it is an easy flu.
Please share this story far and wide, not just on this platform, especially if you live in an area with an outbreak right now (like ours in Southest Michigan where there is an official #publichealth department recommendation for early MMR vaccination for babies 6-11 months old right now)
Excellent resource, thank you.
I need to do some reading
I didn’t realize treating adult type 1 as type 2 causes faster progression. I know a young man a month after a Covid infection presenting with what looked like type 2. He had family hx but he sure progressed quickly to needing insulin. He wasn’t my patient so I don’t know his antibody results.
I didn’t know that!
Totally an ear worm.
This guy is much better at this than Karoline Leavitt
This looks fun!
Same!
I just want the drama to be over. I’m exhausted. A nice quiet wake up dead would be fine.
He doesn’t have advanced dementia, probably mild cognitive impairment mixed with a few personality disorders, a big dash of evil and the mistake many white men make, they think they are smarter than they really are.
Every morning I open the NYT and hope for the headline “Trump dies a peaceful natural death, and the people rejoice”
True, there are some chargers popping up, but right now a new Leaf could get me across the bridge but I’d couldn’t make it back. I want a fast charger in Seney. I think Munising and Newberry will get one soon, which will help.
I didn’t think the pussy grabbing felon could still offend me, I was wrong.
A plug in EV is a great gateway car for a lot of Americans. 80% of my miles are electric. There are still not enough chargers to get me to the UP in Michigan, but maybe next year.
Looks like there was a letter of concern in tesponse to this abstract from 2021 Was thete a particular teason you posted the link to the abstract www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/...
Meat isn’t cheap. Richer people tend to have fewer stressors than poor people. Food studies are hard to do.
