I went into this more or less blind and was NOT ready for what it turned into. Great stuff, really sold by the performance of the leads. But also it's incredibly stupid (complimentary) and really leans into that. And Sam Raimi's direction really shines during its most unhinged moments.

On the 20th of April 1991, Super Robot Wars was released for the Gameboy. A simply strategy game with Gundam, Mazinger & Getter Robo series would go on to be a long running franchise featuring multiple Mecha IPs across multiple gaming platforms.

oh, so act 3's gimmick is that it makes every enemy take a dozen hits to kill and literally everything does two masks of damage now

oh I don't mean super hard, just, like, most of the last several (mandatory) bosses I beat in only a few attempts at most, which is less than what it took me to beat a lot of bosses in the original game and far less than it took me for (most of) the earlier bosses

finished act 2 and, lol, the fake-out

the last stretch of bosses there were (for the most part) surprisingly easy. i expect this to change during act 3

I don't think enemies doing two masks was ever CONSISTENT in Hollow Knight. I remember being surprised when I got to the Radiance since I think it was the only thing in the game that did two masks with every attack.
