a couple of years ago I worked on the run cycles for a Tier 5 Fenrir skin on Smite. This was particularly challenging for me since I was unfamiliar with quadraped runs and this one had a whole other rig attached to it for the rider, each one with their own secondary accoutrements. #animation

On the game Legacy: Steel & Sorcery one of the characters you can play is The Hunter. A bow wielding baddie who has a specific move-set per bow type they can use. This one is for the medium bow and it's called "The Bow dance" I took some heavy inspiration from The Hobbit films' Legolas for this.

No, thats smart. I'm literally doing the same thing right now. I cant close my bird's wings very easily at all so I've worked around needing to do it thus far, but you can believe I've copy/pasted wing animation over and over to reuse and edit.

Was the mesh transition handled engine side or were your keys on the mesh swap in software translated over to handle this?

oh, now that super interesting. Different wings makes sense because it seems pretty hard to get geo to behave properly for both states without some heavy rigging and mesh planning out the wazoo.

I hope Bsky allows us to add our own gifs before too long. Most of my animations are in gif format, but when I add them theyre just still images.

I'm working with a bird on my current project but its dimensions are heavily stylized compared to this more realistic approach. I'm a bit envious of the level of control. Would you mind sharing the rig's controls? I'd love to see how y'all were able to maintain the wing shape when closed and open.
