I know this is a bit hypocritical, but goddamn tourists in Tokyo are annoying.

I also want to compliment you on publishing the best article on the topic that I've read online. It even came up in a conversation in Japan recently where someone basically said "I don't like Daiz, but his article on the CR subtitles was really well done." [end]
We receive a ton of spam posts on ANN where the only goal is "you should read this content I posted elsewhere," and we've become very strict about not allowing it.
That said, I think I would have allowed it as an exception, but obviously I have more leeway to make exceptions than our moderators.
Hi Daiz, I believe you received a reply from our moderators on why your post was not approved.
They were following ANN's rules that advertising outside content is not allowed. Your post was primarily a link to your article with very little "discussion" in the post. [cont]
Doing my expenses like a responsible corporate employee.
I'm not lol. But I assumed more of my followers were deep enough into it that someone would ask about the cards. They belong to a friend who travels back and forth between Japan and the USA to buy & sell Pokemon cards.
Guess none of my followers are big enough Pokémon TCG fans. These cards are worth 5 figures each.
Actually, we suspect a hardware failure. Of course, we do see a lot more bot traffic lately (like everyone) than before though, which further exacerbates the problem as we don't have as much of a server "buffer" as we had before (we used to always have 1 more webserver than our traffic warranted).
We're aware of the issue and working on it. Anytime it's actually down, it should be back up within 10 minutes.
Also worth mentioning, that while most visually disabled people may have speech-to-text readers in their devices, this service will be trained by ANN to properly pronounce Japanese words, as well as eventually providing multiple voices for interviews and round table columns (eg: TWIA).
ocd, adhd, or both ?
Me in 2023: Oh, time to buy a new performance car!
Me in 2025: Oh god, brake replacements cost more than a normal used car. (exaggerating, but not much).
Audio versions of articles aren't for everyone obviously; I hate them. You simply don't need to listen to them.
Please LMK if I've addressed your concerns.
There is no currently no ai involved whatsoever, and I will never do tl;dr ai summaries. I am however hoping that Instaread implements ai to improve "natural timing," ie: when to pause, as well as commercial pronunciation.
Hi, thanks for your feedback, not it is a 100% text-to-speech reading of the article designed for people who have either limited-to-no text reading ability and/or those that simply prefer to listen to the article instead of reading it.
An acquaintance went to an unofficial Reddit Anime NYC after party 😂
Yup I get scripts and pitches too. One every two or three months.
It's 2025 and we still get these emails.
I'm sad to say I understand that sign.
I like this on so many levels
Ramen for lunch.
Time to play Pokemon.
Are these cards any good?
Boiled pork womb. 😋
Suburban Tokyo is a real wasteland.

I was told this is the most interesting shrine in this part of Tokyo.
Someone gave the Buddha a coffee as an offering. (this is actually not that uncommon)
I'm still in Tokyo.
Funny aburasoba menu. English to Japanese translation:
