To me it seems like the Red Sox are the Reds competition for Crochet. Cubs don’t make sense with all the lefties, Yankees don’t have enough to offer, and Phillies got rejected for Bohm and Justin Crawford.

Was looking into this and I’m not sure I love the fit at least with Lane. I feel like you could get Austin Hays for 3 mil less. Could find a way to like Naylor but you’d expect him to play first everyday at his price point which boots Candy to everyday 3B and Steer to just OF and CES positionless.

Austin Hays is fine too instead of O’Neill. Probably more flexibility there for Steer and Fraley. Then you could just keep Pagan.

Not sure if the Reds would want to do this but a “screw the bullpen” approach and trading Pagan could work.

FanGraphs deemed Bubic’s value at 7.4 million dollars in 2024. Bubic is only expected to make 3 million in arbitration this year and has two years of team control left.

Pitching models also liked Bubic’s stuff in 2024. His 3 main pitches the fastball, slider and changeup ranked 98, 110, and 86 on the stuff + model (100 being avg) and 110, 107 and 109 on the location + model.

With his improved fastball, he also added some more extension down the mound being close to 7 feet in extension. Also, his expected stats like batting average, slugging and weight on base average (WOBA) were lower than the actual stats themselves deeming Bubic unlucky in 2024.
