watching even a few seconds of the kirk funeral makes it clear a large quantity of this country is ready for full on nazi authoritarianism and we have to really grapple with how much we need to put a stop to this as quickly as possible

People are posting about the democratic legislators who were assassinated to highlight how the media is asymmetric in its coverage of "political violence" but I just spent an afternoon catching up a friend from Atlanta about every political murder by fascists in Portland that national media ignored.
This is why violence happening to them is abhorrent, but violence happening to us is simply the natural order of things

Texturized Vegetable Protein. It's pretty cheap and Can sub it in for meat in a lot of dishes.
(I've been a vegetarian for 30+ years, but in a SHTF scenario, it's a cheap protein. Shelf stable bulk TVP is great to have as well.)
People think it takes a lot of money to prepare. And it absolutely can. But to start, every time you go to the grocery store, get a can of tuna and a gallon of water and throw them in a closet. It adds up.
