We don't know each other but I'm still happy about this. What serendipity to clear two major hurdles in one day. Today you are Superman, and you can do anything!

A trip to the airport and the Guthrie were two favorites for our kids. Also Mia has a nice indoor playroom as well as fun art.
So many questions in the survey about parking and the cost of parking, none that I recall offered transit as an option for families. I know so many toddlers and preschooler so absolutely love busses and trains and ride them recreationally. No carseats!
The only reason that commenter is saying she'd come in to Minneapolis for an indoor playground is that she and her kids like playgrounds. Suburban parents aren't going to actually come. They don't want to pay for parking. This needs to be for Minneapolis families first and foremost.

Planning to take a train trip around the Gulf of Bothnia now that Finland and Sweden are reconnecting train service over the border.
My stepdaughter failed out of the national ballet school in Berlin when she was 11 and has had 20 years of knee and foot problems since then.
I, on the other hand, had four able-bodied security staff watch me with my 6-week-old baby arrive at the museum and see that the elevator was out of order. They made me carry my infant up the stairs, set him under a potted plant, then go back down the stairs to drag the stroller up alone.
This is just devastating

My favorite Flintstone innovation is the bees in the clamshell shaver.
Love triceratops also.
This struck me: "Batra, who is Sikh, left India after her parents were murdered during a state pogrom against Sikhs in the 1980s. But she missed a one-year application deadline and her chance to become an asylee." She was 18 and missed a deadline. As the parent of an 18yo, this breaks my heart.
I love the joy these students have being out on bikes. Thank you!
Minneapolis Public Schools is looking for volunteers for its Let's Roll ride on May 6 on the Northside.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. We are still getting our Sunday Strib, but not the Times.
Hey, is anyone else not receiving the Sunday edition of the NYTimes now that the Strib printing has gone to Iowa? We haven't received ours in weeks and weeks. I hesitate to bring this up directly with the NYTimes since we're basically getting it online for free in the interim. Just curious.
It also rubbed me wrong the way she called appointed positions part of the "permanent" bureaucracy.
Here's how CM Palmisano oddly described it in her newsletter.
A similar situation affected the nanoscale-close 2008 Minnesota election for US Senate, leading the legislature in 2010 to stop sending absentee ballots to polling places, instead using centralized ballot boards. I still think this was a smart move our neighbors ought to emulate.
Canadian hospitals typically will not bill US health insurance directly; it's complicated because the Canadian system uses different billing codes than the US. US-based patients typically pay up front for ER service and then negotiate with their insurer to get reimbursement.

Canadian sex takes twice as long because if you are not Canadian they require cash payment up front at the ER.
I would have said writing, but I'm not sure how much that system has changed in the past 15 years.
I drive a 2013 VW Jetta manual transmission station wagon I bought used and I don't know what I will do when it dies because VW no longer sells station wagons for the US market. The Audi station wagons start at $73,000.
Anecdotal from my sample of about 350 Somali men and women under 25 from the Twin Cities area in '24. Since 2016 I've been talking regularly with groups of young Somali Americans about voting and elections, encouraging them to work in polling places. The paid opportunity is surprisingly engaging.
I first started shopping there in the 1990s and had a big adjustment switching to the Minneapolis location.
So many stories about Hwy 8.
As someone who once lived half a mile south of Hwy 8 on 24 1/2 Street, I concur.
Our kids basically wanted no input from us. Their school had essay-writing workshops and test prep classes and coached them through applications. One chose a private liberal arts college, the other who has better ACT/SAT scores, plans on community college.
Work with your teen on understanding the financials together so that you all understand the tradeoffs, what you might be able to contribute, and potential costs they might bear. Model the financial decision-making so it doesn't seem like a black box.
