If jobscan is anything like what companies are using to find resumes that "fit" right now then I am not surprised that so many people cannot find work.

But I think it is important to persist. I also want to clarify I do not think ppl who use AI for applications are lazy, I think they are scared as hell. Which is a 100% fair reaction to the current times. I guess my point is your abilities are what got you this far. Don't give away your abilities.

I've applied to almost 100 jobs this year alone. I am completely sick of the process to the point where my body gets tired after I've submitted one application. I am guilty of clicking the bullshit Easy Apply button on LinkedIn.

Unemployment is exhausting and terrifying. I am not minimizing that. I have been looking or what feels like forever. And of course after the millionth application it is tempting to just give all the information to a program. Trust me, I've lost sleep over this.

It also disables the job-seekers. By relying too heavily on AI, what do you learn? What do you gain? It takes away a thinking process where you might realize that you should list A instead of B. Or even make a mistake with your wording only the realize it is better than what you had before.

It is bizarre to me that anyone would encourage job-seekers to use AI to apply places. I used it for two separate applications out of curiosity (sorry trees) and felt it was not at all worth it. Why would I spend my time learning how to ask a machine to do bad work that I need to fix anyway?

I know it seems masochistic to do but in light of recent events I will now be searching reddit for any mortifying takes on any and all of the establishments I apply to.

The use of that emoji alone is unsettlingly AI-ish
