Today, Uachtarán na hÉireann, Catherine Connolly has convened a meeting of the Council of State under Article 26 of the Constitution, for the purpose of her hearing from the Council regarding the constitutionality of the International Protection Bill 2026.
Today, President Connolly addressed the "In Defence of Democracy" Summit in Barcelona.
This was the fourth high-level meeting of the initiative, launched by Brazil and Spain in September 2024.
