Dr. Mio Hua goes over 5 Violence Prevention Programs including Community Violence Intervention (CVI), Hospital-Based Violence Intervention (HBVI), Safe Spaces Activation, Victim Services and Post-Incident Response.
Dr. Mio Hua talks about overdose trends, which includes 5 forms of overdose prevention. She also mentions the overdose EMS responses on the west side going down.

Dr. Chenetra Washington goes over what Smart911 is. It is a free online app that allows you to create a custom 911 safety profile for you and your family. It can include as little or as much information as needed. It also has a texting feature.
In 2024, OMEC/CPD responded to 26,835 disturbance/mental health calls.
Dr. Chenetra Washington goes over the CIT Dispatch Process. She then explains how OEMC dispatchers are trained to identify available Certified CIT CPD members. CIT CPD members are prioritized to respond to service.
We're looking at an event screen for a 911 dispatcher. The most critical piece of information for the dispatcher is the where. The dispatcher is also able to note if mental health is involved.
Dr. Chenetra Washington mentions that it's very important to know the 5 W's- the Who, What, Where, When and Weapons in the situation to provide the best support.
Dr. Chenetra Washington mentions that the call volume is influenced by the time of year, time of day and weather.

CIU discusses feedback for #S04-20-04 “Mental Health Transport and Related Duties Matrix”
The CIU mentions some of the feedback they received on #S04-20 “Recognizing and Responding to Individuals in Crisis” highlighting that people would like to see more diversion and less going to the hospital or CPD
CIU shares the addition of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline that can be called, texted or chatted.
The CIU and Research and Development shares some of the revisions to the suite of policies.
CCMHE last reviewed polices in 2021/2022 and they were updated in 2023.
