Today is a FINE FUCKING DAY to stop posting screenshots from Twitter, a platform your dumb ass should have abandoned a long time ago.
Stop wading in sewage and bringing us the ripest turds.

It's Wednesday
This afternoon, in addition to Charlie Kirk, there was a school shooting. Bullets don't know and don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat. It is time for Republicans and Democrats to find a way to work together to reduce gun violence.

Excellent response from Hasan Piker, who was scheduled to debate Charlie Kirk in two weeks. On his stream he said: “The reverberation of people seeking out vengeance in the aftermath of this violent, abhorrent incident is going to be genuinely worrisome.” Also talked about his own vulnerability

In the 1,000 days since ChatGPT’s release, it has disrupted the university approach to learning, meant to stop students from relying on A.I. “We, of course, do not want our students to fail, but we don’t want them to fail to learn, either,” Clay Shirkey, a vice provost at NYU, writes.
Thankfully it was covered, but I did have a walk from where I parked to the venue, so the sunscreen was necessary!
Also, as an adult I understand why people drop big money on VIP experiences. A couple grand and my parking and entry experience is 1000x better? AND my food and beverages are taken care of? AND I can sit in an air conditioned suite? I get it.
Other questions I’ve asked: Do I have my earplugs? Did I charge my phone? Where do I park?
Me getting ready to go to warped tour as a teen: did I put on sunscreen before I left? Do I have 1 sealed water bottle to last me all day?
Me getting ready to see MCR in the latter half of my 20s: have I applied multiple layers of SPF 50? Did I drink 80oz of water and a sports drink before I left?
Congressional Republicans have introduced the Clear Skies Act, a bill “to prohibit weather modification.” Alexandra Petri offers suggestions for other fictional threats the bill’s sponsors could ban while they’re at it:
Imposter syndrome in grad school is crazy because every time I think I’m good and I deserve to be there, I have another assignment due and I become completely incapable of putting a single thought on the page out of fear that it’s not any good
When I’m finally watching “Shiny Happy People” and @kkdumez.bsky.social shows up in ep 1 and I’m also reading “Jesus and John Wayne”
I found it incredibly interesting! I’m very excited to get a copy of the book and ready it for myself!
Just a casual day at work listening to @drmphillipsut.bsky.social talk about his new book about eugenics in Texas
The primary policy objective of the centrist political pundit is to keep making six to seven figures

Who is the woman commenting on the Stars-Jets game on ESPN? I feel like I’m listening to NPR
I’ve been obsessed w the JFK assassination since like the 3rd grade for some reason, and I can’t stop myself from learning about the AIDS crisis. And it’s just like normal.
I had another professor who wrote his dissertation on mediaeval torture devices.
Historians are crazy bc some of us will have the absolute wildest special interests. I had a professor in college who studied Nazi propaganda and at least once every class would be like “I just thought it was interesting, I didn’t agree with it”
“I thought you guys would want me to have kids here but I guess not ???” Is the tone of most of my phone calls and emails
Actually my favorite thing about being a married white woman pf childbearing age is leveraging that every time I call my elected officials on the stupid shit they’re doing in the state legislature
"...the goals of COVID normalizers intersect with the goals of anti-vaxxers; both want to manufacture broad consent to destroy collective belief in public health. And this is the point at which their tactics, explanations and justifications become nearly identical."
Updated my lock screen for the next few weeks to get me through the rest of the semester
Remember when this used to be part of my regular commute? Yee haw 🤠

It’s my personal favorite holiday
Gonna start using “if you happen to believe that the earth is flat you will find every book on geography ‘controversial’” on a more regular basis (not her quote, but I’m glad she included it)
