Shoutout to our volunteer cook crew who have kept us going throughout the winter and the start of spring 🌞

Here are some foody highlights from the past month or so. Thank you to our crack team of cooks for always cooking with organic and nutritious food which we can share with our community.

We are heartbroken to read this report. Thank you to Ed for your incredible work, and thank you to our own Matt Turtle, Billie Gay Jackson, and Gill Taylor, for helping with its early draughts.

The investigations, known as Prevention of Future Death (PFD) reports, are carried out by Coroners, who are increasingly highlighting specific related issues such as a lack of social housing, the so-called ‘bedroom tax’ which lowers benefit entitlement, and poor mental health support provision.

The report, written by Ed-Kirton-Darling, a legal expert and specialist in homelessness, marginilisation and the coronial system, and a longstanding ally of MOH, can be read here:

The report, to be presented to policymakers today, uncovers a huge rise in official reports concerning deaths amongst homeless or precariously housed people.

We have so much gratitude to everyone who donated towards John’s funeral, it really meant a lot to Mark and the wider community.

Our huge thanks also to LDC Funeral services and Andrew the celebrant for supporting us to give John the send off he deserved.

On Friday 20th March we said goodbye to John Poole, a well loved community member.
The hearse travelled from the museum through Finsbury Park to take John through the park he loved on his final journey. The service was very well attended and even Isha, John’s dog, joined us in the crematorium.
