Tell Your Members of Congress to rein in ICE NOW On January 24, federal forces with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. This was just over two weeks after the killing of Renee Good. These killings are a direc...

Congress is scrambling to pass a DHS funding bill by Friday, and we need to make it loud and clear that our senators and representatives must oppose any bill that hands ICE and Border Patrol more funding or fails to include strict safeguards to protect our communities.

This. A handful of Americans have the power to stop this NOW, and they are refusing to.

This week we've gotten the first test for whether MAHA will push past an anti-establishment politick and get on board with putting their political weight behind some actual legislation with the reintroduction of the Medical Nutrition Therapy Act of 2025.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Budget cuts knock down a ‘pillar of public health,’ ending nutrition education A federal education program that helped food stamp beneficiaries find healthy foods and prepare them on a budget is ending.

SNAP-Ed taught people on food benefits about cooking healthy food and organized walking groups — the kinds of efforts that seem in keeping with MAHA's mission. But the program will end under the new tax bill. Great feature from @elizabethcooney.bsky.social

Q&A: Nutrition expert discusses pioneering program terminated by USDA Here’s a Q&A with a nutrition expert who created an after-school program for NYC middle-schoolers who take on adult responsibilities, like meal preparation. This spring, the USDA terminated it.

It's exceedingly hard to argue that the administration & MAHA are committed to improving nutrition when they're simultaneously cutting everything from SNAP-Ed to innovative community nutrition work - cements the perception that food dyes are public health theatre.

🚨 Nutrition programs that millions of Americans rely on are under threat of reduced funding or outright elimination. 🚨

Here's what's at risk:
🏦 Significant funding cuts to SNAP, WIC and Medicaid.
🏫 Eliminating SNAP-Ed and reduced access to school meals.
🍎 Slashed support for CDC and NIH nutrition and obesity prevention programs.
🌎 Defunding USAID’s global anti-hunger and nutrition and food security initiatives.

I have celiac disease. My grocery bills are already high. Trump’s tariffs are about to make them worse With President Trump’s plans for imposing additional tariffs and trade restrictions, gluten-free products are likely to get even more expensive.

This op-ed brings up a good point about the Trump tarrifs affecting gluten-free and allergy-free food that heavily rely on imported ingredients. People like myself with celiac disease already spend 183% more than the normal American due to the high cost of gluten-free food.
