It's just fucking unforgivable. A gay woman, a gay fucking woman using her celebrity to hound a trans woman, who never wanted to be anything other than a decent human being as a doctor. It's so astonishing that Navratilova can't read the writing spray painted on the wall, she's so blinded by bigotry

... and if you answered with the statement "I have no idea what you mean by that", what would the practitioner's answer be? "Er, I mean, well, what... I don't know. I'll be leaving now, please excuse me."

Wow.

I was doing some autism training today, (work in adult social care) and in a section saying "Get to know your client before you meet them" (fair enough), this was a question to ask their parents/caregivers:
"What is their lived experience?"

What the hell are you supposed to answer that with?

Beth worked as a doctor for years until a transphobe turned up. Now, she's had to leave her job, leave her home, move to the other side of the world and is still being hounded and harassed by the media and cult.

She did nothing but exist as trans in the orbit of Sandie Peggie.

Oh my Gods! That is unbelievably awful, I would just be making arrangements to leave ASAP.

It's like something from a Dave Eggars novel.

She doesn't work for any companies. The only thing you've said is that she's religious.

This pair of actual, real ads (that Cory D has posted) lands very strangely when you work with people who often have dementia!

But the below is absolutely the correct response, because...

Well... I mean it's honest!

(I'm a support worker for fairly elderly people coming out of hospital, with and without dementia, before your head explodes!)

Why is she a national security risk? Stop pussyfooting around what it is you clearly want to say?

Part of the reason politics is now in a bad way is that people were once expected to resign if morally indefensible things happened on their watch. In fact, of course, Mandelson resigned twice before! If you screwed up, you need to be a moral person and go. There are other people who can lead.

Is she an elected member of Parliament? No? She's got bugger all to do with the current shambles, please leave the criticism to those who deserve it

If you had a shot available of Starmer looking like that, and you were the photo editor, would you turn it down?
It makes him look more competent and vicious than he actually is.

I was brought up on Genesis, and they were a very musical bunch, but basically every other band represented in that night is uninteresting. Which suggests many of the other bands' fans will feel the same way. 🀷

I am going to say, I think they should add Bohemian Rhapsody as a 'forever' part of the Last Night. I properly had tears in my eyes last year, it was magnificent.

I think the biggest problem with the prog one is that prog people have a tendency to be very territorial. They'll love one band to the point of ridiculousness, and pour scorn on five others. It's not quite the unifying thing that Northern soul was (and wasn't it glorious!).

My job is in the evenings. It is abysmal for promming. I think I only went to that one we were both at and one other last year 😭

Improving the safety of cycling in Europe (PIN Flash 50) Cyclists remain among the most vulnerable road users. Unlike occupants of cars, vans and lorries, cyclists have little physical protection. As a result, collisions involving cyclists are more likely…

πŸ€” What's needed? Report says more urban 20mph, more protected cycle lanes & safe junctions etc. Full report: www.etsc.eu/pinflash50

Duncan, my dear chap, that other fellow, that Jemaine Clement, now I know he doesn't sound like one of us, but I believe he hails from our bijou colony in the far south-east, next to where we sent all the Irish criminals to 'set up shop' as it were.

Israel has to have reparations, surely.

Honestly the first season is cobblers. Then Worf and O'Brien turn up, and the sheer number of amazing actors turns the screws on the writers and the quality of the scripts becomes fantastic. Until all of a sudden it is absolute bollocks!

There was a lot to like in it, but for me, too much didn't work.
I really really like Deep Space 9 once Worf et al turn up, but not the last season, which was ludicrous. I must rewatch them. There were sooo many great actors on board who made the characters sing.

It was that guy who... was he a chef, or something? He was obviously supposed to be a Gynan type role but man oh man, I did not get on with them! I think he also reminded me too much of 'Pigsy' from Monkey.
And the ones when Janeway would go and visit the "Maestro". And Seven of Nine's costume!

Here's ours. I love it when they're totally passed, but one ear remains cocked and alert.
Our older friend is on my profile page image. It was gorgeous and healthy then one day came home with a bad limp, that never seemed to get better. Then it disappeared for good. You try your best for them :)

Oh very nice!

Last year's visitor was friends with a cat. They'd sleep close to each other :)

If they'd had the guts, they would have left it all for five years, gone and put all that creative energy in to other subjects (maybe new IP! There's a thought), then five years down the line, hire a new generation creative director, dig around in a new generation of comics and start fresh.
Sigh.

Yay! I've got one of those. I wonder if, common to other mammals, they are 'wandering lone adolescent males'?

Mine gets a tin of el cheapo dog food every other day so it doesn't starve whilst it learns how to find food properly. In return, it potters round our very safe garden, looking charming :)
