I’m finally very close to finishing my first dissertation copy. I can barely believe it. I feel there’s so much more I should have addressed but I’ll allow myself to be proud for some sense of completion!

Lost hours in the rabbit holes of the Ep. Files. The most disturbing part though is the total impunity.

ICE deportation flights are getting longer and crueler A private equity–owned airline profits off Trump’s migrant crackdown.

A lovely woman I know told me the other day that since Avelo stopped flying for ICE, "We did it! We ended ICE Air!" Had to tell her Avelo was only about 15% of it.

Still going: Global X, Eastern Air, Journey, Key Lime/Denver Air, and Omni Air International ⤵️

I just switched my pharmacy. The new pharmacist looked at my bill and was clearly bothered for how much I still had to pay. “Diabetes is expensive,” I said. “On top of that, you still have to prove to need these meds all the time.” He couldn’t fix my bill, but his compassion felt like a kind hug.

UC press is seeking applications for the position of Editor(s) in Chief of the Journal of Vietnamese Studies. UC Press is open to sole applicants or groups of no more than 3 to serve as Editor(s) in Chief.

Journal of Vietnamese Studies (JVS) is a quarterly, international academic journal dedicated to advancing rigorous interdisciplinary scholarship about Vietnam. Since its founding in 2006, JVS has become a premier venue for original research across the social sciences and humanities, exploring Vietnamese history, politics, society, and culture, as well as Vietnam-related topics that have traditionally been set apart from mainstream area studies scholarship such as the Vietnamese diaspora and the Vietnam War.

The journal publishes original research articles, book reviews, multimedia reviews, and occasionally translations of Vietnamese-language documents and texts. It is indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science.

Applicants should have a distinguished scholarly record in fields in or related to Vietnamese Studies or with a significant research interest relating to Vietnam. Journal editorial experience is strongly preferred but not required. Applicants should possess strong organizational and management skills, the ability to work with others, and a commitment to JVS’s mission to publish high-quality, relevant, and engaging scholarship. Strong preference for Vietnamese language ability.
