Yeah this specific problem only GM has afaik and iirc all their postbolt EVs have it. OldBolt has no such issues outside of “heat can build up when there’s no breeze” (and slow charging to begin with I suppose)

(Was chatting w/ a friend of a friend yesterday and they’re considering an equinox EV but were worried about it charging in the heat, which I think might be the hvac-during-DCFC thing? Funny what filters out as concerns for people)

It’ll, just idly, be interesting to see if people’s perception of equinox/mme/bz etc shifts as they get away from the “keep a gas or hybrid for longer trips” thinking.

A/o if it’ll turn out charging speed was always basically a nonissue and 20-40 minute stops aren’t that big a deal to most people

It’s kinda wild how many people are completely unwilling to consider any potential adaptation or that things can change over time.

I also love how you can tell when a wikipedia page is being run by an annoyed owner of a specific piece of tech, e.g. the Equinox EV's page mentions that V2L on the Equionox EV 3RS was at least delayed through the endish of 2025 despite being promises for much earlier.

also: wow I hate how much every automaker seems to slow-walk every base trim. It happened with NuBolt and NuLeaf too

(oh the Equinox is way newer than I thought but introduction in 2024 basically coincides with killing the Bolt the instant they can "justify" it, I'll poke around further though.)
