With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.
We've enlisted the help of @timheidecker.bsky.social, who will be InfoWars' Creative Director.
Please stand by for more.
Sorry to be overly sincere for a second, but here's why we decided to persevere through all of the bullshit and take over InfoWars.
There's just gotta be a line somewhere.
Thank you @pablo.show for letting me talk so openly about this.
Breaking news: Tim Cook will step down as CEO of Apple on September 1.
The new CEO will be John Ternus, another veteran of the company who has served as its hardware chief, overseeing some of Apple’s most crucial products. More on the move here:
To be clear, the United States military is not just "war crime" evil, and "genocide support" evil - it is also lawless pirates.
Salute to an all-time tweet
never apologize for geeking out! thats what its all about. thanks for sharing, i know i have my own favorite artists that i feel very similarly about (Noah Gundersen, who actually I think mirrors Bazan in some similar ways, more in a folk singer/songwriter way though)
i also just looked and still have my vinyl of Curse Your Branches even after all this time 🔥
i grew up a sheltered evangelical, and david's songwriting was some of the first exposure i had to anything that wasn't sanitized to nothing. i left religion a decade ago and left all the music behind, but this just reminded me of how much i enjoyed his work. excited to listen to this to reintroduce
I despise these things and my local amusement park, Carowinds (now owned by Six Flags) has them all of the place. I just say no to every request to play them, but its still annoying af and it seems gross to allow kids to essentially gamble. Hard to explain to a 6yo that the game is rigged.

A guy asking ChatGPT to review a series of fart sound effects and getting a serious kiss ass response that calls it atmospheric
I can't stop laughing at this post. It's perfect.
this is how it’s done
THIS SUMS IT UP AS WELL AS ANYONE CAN:
Evangelical Christians have been shrinking as a percentage of the American population for decades, driven mainly by a loss of white evangelicals. Today's evangelical base is much more racially diverse than it was 20 years ago mostly because there are many fewer white evangelicals.
Ooo good to know, I also wanted to grab one of his non sci-fi books and didn't know which one to grab, will grab Starter Villain at next earliest opportunity
hmm, what if i told you that it wasn’t
New books by John Scalzi on a bookshelf
I finally read Old Man's War by @scalzi.com and I'm furious at myself for waiting so long. Read it essentially two sittings -- I could not put it down. Immediately went out and bought more books!
No big deal just a solar eclipse as seen from the moon streamed to us here on Earth by astronauts who are farther away from their home planet than any human has ever been
“No one ever discouraged the girl from North Carolina that had a dream to become an astronaut, and I think that was the most important thing.” www.ncrabbithole.com/p/how-christ...
Up the Imps!!
NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.
Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]
We are so, so small. #Artemis
