I spoke poorly here, I didn't mean to imply that serious games weren't valid and fun to play! What I was trying to point out is that I think some people who haven't gotten an opertunity to play Vampire might think that there's just the one way to do it when there's a variety of play styles

There are so many different ways you can play Vampire the Masquerade and I'm happy that Dimension 20 is showing just how ridiculous and absurd it can be in juxtaposition to how it's often portrayed as being over-serious

I recommend the book Carmilla and Laura by SD Simper. It's a retelling of Carmilla that's more gay and had a much more satisfying sapphic ending that the original story.
