Even by their weird 'logic', 600/10 is 60. So he should have said 6000%. He would still be wrong, but what he actually said is wrong even in the context of this stupid fake math.

That's all true. I think what I find interesting (and couldn't put into words before) is that before WWII, sedans were typically a two-box shape without a prominent trunk, and coupes were three-box due to the shorter roof. Then it completely reversed.

The cofounder of Wikipedia recently tried to get support for a project to incorporate more "intellectual diversity" in its articles, and it was pretty roundly rejected by the users because it was essentially a push to stop enforcing neutral POV and allow fringe theories.

The Two Door Sedan (1920-2010) - Its Origins and the Last 2-Door Sedan For Each American Brand and Model - Curbside Classic 1920 Essex Coach and 2010 Ford Focus There are two once-common automotive body styles that have become extinct: the two door sedan and the two door station wagon. We covered […]

It is tricky because very early coupes didn't have the sloping roofline, they just had a notchback instead of the roof extending all the way to the rear.

I remember this article made things pretty clear.

Bubba had Shingles

Those of us who spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate this! Doesn't it seem that more and more that physicians are running their practices like an assembly line? Here's what happened to Bubba:

Bubba walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Bubba said, Shingles. So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked Bubba what he had. Bubba said, Shingles. So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Bubba to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Bubba what he had. Bubba said, Shingles. So the nurse gave Bubba a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told
Bubba to take off all his clothes and waited for the doctor. An hour later the doctor came in and asked Bubba what he had. Bubba said, shingles. The doctor asked, Where? Bubba said, "Outside on the truck. Where do vou want
them?"

Found these old playing cards when moving things to the attic. I hope whoever designed these is now working as a political cartoonist.

Just play this for him and let it be over.

An air traffic controller was juggling extra roles during the LaGuardia plane crash The National Transportation Safety Board said it has concerns about air traffic controllers who work the midnight shift taking on extra work in an airspace as busy as LaGuardia's.

There were two ATC in the tower at the time but at least one was doing multiple duties.

The ASDE-X didn't generate an alert for potential collision which is being investigated.

Certainly the blame can't fall on the controllers.

Unfortunately since Wikipedia relies on other sources, the use of AI in universities is still going to cause problems for Wikipedia and knowledge in general.

I wonder how many papers cited by Wikipedia will have some LLM generated content? It will be so painful to clean up this info pollution.

I wasn't familiar with the Corsair, but it reminds me a lot of the P3 Taunus, which I guess is no surprise.

I have a soft spot for the Taunus but I think I have to admit this is prettier.

I realized recently that the use of the word "cartel" to describe Mexican drug traffickers does sort of imply that the biggest problem is that they are collaborating to stifle competition and have gained too much market share.

I would never speak for the founding fathers, but *holds up hand puppet of George Washington* "Iran has been a threat to American interests since the Qajars took over the region and started terrorizing the local khanates north of the Aras."

First (and possibly only?) time I saw one of these, I was so enamored by the taillights being completely surrounded by glass without any wiring showing. It makes sense but it just struck me.

I like to tell people this car has something in common with the Prius. The visibility must be great!

Forgive me, I've been interested lately in information about which cars historically sold well in different regions, especially within a segment. Are there any sources you'd recommend?

Is the bit about VWs, Citroëns, etc. from a particular source, or just common knowledge or an observation?

I hate that it's such a perfect parallel to the claims that AI can't exist if they have to follow copyright law.

All the worst people saying the law is an obstacle when that's exactly why those laws should be enforced.

No? Only Trump voters failed. That's pretty clear from what I wrote.

I can only assume you deleted your other comment because you realized that what I said was completely consistent with what I'm saying now.

However, I will give you the benefit of the doubt because I can see how it could have been interpreted that way. Character limits make clear communication hard.

No, I was not counting on other voters to stop Trump. I was counting on other voters to not vote for Trump. Everyone had a duty not to vote for the harm that he is. Too many people failed that duty.

If I lived in a swing state I probably would have voted differently. I didn't tell anyone how to vote.

If you consider being upset about Harris' support for a country engaged in a genocide to be "whining" then I don't know what to tell you. I assumed the genocide at least bothered you.

(and for clarity, I voted third party—not for Trump)

2 months ago 1 0 0 0

I'm trying to find common ground where I can. It's not easy. I know I sound like a fool. I just don't see a way forward for the country without trying.

2 months ago 1 0 1 0

I probably won't get you to understand my vote. I didn't want Trump to win. I didn't believe he would be better in any way. I just counted on the rest of the country to do their duty and not vote for a monster. I felt a vote for Harris would make me directly complicit in genocide.
