I am meeting my nephew and his wife for sushi. I see them park their car, and of course I do what any good aunt would do… I sneak up behind them and then pop up at the driver’s side door with a finger gun, shouting, “GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!”

It is amazing how quickly life can change in the span of 2 weeks.
When I flew to Virginia on March 26th with my backpack and carry-on, I had no idea I would be burying my mom 2 weeks later.

I am back home in Virginia, wading through rough (🤬 cancer) times with my mom, and I’ve found an unusual but highly effective coping mechanism. Every time I feel like I’m going to fall apart, I put on “Back That Azz Up” by Juvenile ft. Lil Wayne.

My friend Nick and I saw #AimeeMann perform Lost in Space back in 2003, when we were young and full of life. It’s almost fate that I am seeing her solo tonight on the (math, Mary) literal 22nd anniversary of his passing.
