Another ALT Games has come to an end. Very excited to break it all down in the coming days. Right now though, gonna crash then have a night of Tomodachi Life ahead of me. Look forward to next year's event.

Amazed by how big ALT Games has grown compared to last year. Bigger space, more games and even bigger queues. Only managed to really explore half of the main hall today, so have quite an endeavour ahead of me tomorrow.
@chloeappleby.bsky.social and the entire Powerhouse team did a phenomenal job.
I will never understand how people can just play one game and that's it. I get having a niche, but whether it's FIFA, Fortnite, Forza, GTA V, Call of Duty etc., how don't you get bored??
There are so many interesting gaming experiences out there, both past and present that are just ignored.
Seriously, can Sony just hurry up and add cloud streaming to the Portal in Australia pls? I'm not paying $1000 just to play 10 PS5 games
I want to introduce you all to something myself and @jacksonwryan.com have been working on.
A PRINT MAGAZINE about video games and video game culture.
We know things have been bad for games writing recently. We're asking, "do you want to Continue?"

Haha that's fair. Can I still attend the sessions even if I'm not a game dev or do you recommend leaving them for devs?
Check out the line up for ALT GAMES April 18-19 in Sydney!!

Ah thank you so much for the quick response :)
@chloeappleby.bsky.social What's the difference between Alt:Sessions and Alt:Features?
A very entertaining first half. When rugby league is as exciting as this, it reminds me why it is one of the best sports in the world. Hope the second half also delivers. Plus another intriguing matchup still to follow
The 2026 NRL season is finally here!
Let the games begin.
Peter Moore - After helping launch the Dreamcast, he joined Xbox in Jan 2003. He was there for Halo 2 on Xbox, and the launch of Xbox 360 in 2005. He left in 2007, but Xbox coasted on the good will he helped create for the rest of the generation. Before Kinect and Xbox One snuffed it out. Phil Spencer was never able to return Xbox to its glory days under Moore.
The still only time that Xbox really thrived

Devastated.
What's so dumb about the Bluepoint closure is their entire shtick was stability. Competently remaking games people love is the exact low-risk, high-reward move that suits should love, and yet they're so stupid that in The Quest For More Money they pulled the floor out from under Bluepoint anyway
Weβre so freaking back. Videogames. Board games. Role playing games. I wanna show case you at ALT: GAMES 2026! Submit in the cheeky link.
Successful applications will be paid an honorarium.

It's better? I guess.
Didn't piss me off nearly as much but I do still have grievances. Like why is Mario Kart 64 even on this list? Same goes for Donkey Kong Bananza. Also of all the Pokemon games, why Yellow? And Link's Awakening is such an odd choice (regardless of original or remake)
@nmusic300.bsky.social Have you seen the IGN x Nintendo Life Top 100 Nintendo list?
20 of the list are being released daily and IMO it might be one of the worst lists IGN has ever done.
This story is infinitely more important than GTA getting delayed. Don't let me catch you moaning about waiting longer for a video game if you're not mad about why it happened.
With today marking the official 25th anniversary of the launch of the PlayStation 2, it feels fitting to bring back the panel that we did at PAX AUS this year.
A historic milestone for a historic console!

Same, bestie.
Over the past 4 years, myself and my Swiftie GF have ranked Taylor's albums from 1st to 10th/11th. So in preparation for #TheLifeOfAShowgirl I thought I'd show the results as a graph.
I'm on left, GF on right.
Also big thank you to @legenette.bsky.social from @screenhub.bsky.social for including our panel as one of the highlights. Truly an honour to be featured alongside some of the big panels this year. No pressure :P
