Reminds me of when I saw someone confidently post about ZNGA's stock price, calling the day's change a "*perennial* dead cat bounce," and I pictured dead cats perpetually bouncing all over the place.
Thank you!

Fun coincidence: before I joined Hudson and eventually got to work on Felix, I was working at... Toys R Us! I was one of the guys in the video game booth who took the tickets for the games.
(That's also how I got the Hudson gig. I saw their number on a game box and I cold-called them.)

Is there a transcript? I can read 10X faster than I can listen 😄
Drinking with a game director at a launch party. He said something through all the free wine that still sticks with me.
"Making a game is like landing a plane while you are building it, and the plane is on fire."
Trick or Treat, if just for the soundtrack by Fastway and the 80's "metal is the devil's music" vibe.
In just a few days, you can see SPINAL TAP II: THE END CONTINUES on various large screens around the world. I’d recommend it, if only for the greatness. And the loudness. Plus Junior Mints.

I tried to buy tickets to the September basho via the official web site at the moment they went on sale, and it was basically impossible do to. The site was overwhelmed, and by the time I managed to get it to load (after 20 minutes), tickets for all days were sold out.

Indeed it was!
Old copies of SimCity for Acorn, Unix, etc. Source code for SimFarm. And an unannounced never-completed licensed console game... ;-)
I ran into an old Maxis/EA colleague at the Vintage Computer Festival. He's still at EA, and told me that, incredibly, they found a some of my old archived stuff from 90's Maxis! I thought it was all tossed and gone forever, but somehow there are survivors.
Very much enjoyed the Japanese film Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes... great small-scale sci-fi time travel concept, cool dense complexity, and only 60 minutes. Seek it out!
Box containing and Intellivision II game console, IntelliVoice module, and several cartridges including boxed copies of Astrosmash and BurgerTime.

NVIDIA's GeForce NOW Native App makes navigation and usability easier for cloud streaming on the #SteamDeck, and it made me a believer in the service.
Here are our thoughts on the new native app:

An article by Bill Barol titled "Big Fun in a Small Town."
Something I quietly snuck into our digital library in-between larger projects...
This is Newsweek's review of SimCity from May 29, 1989 — the first mainstream coverage of SimCity. The founders of Maxis have credited this article for the game's success

the sims “allowed to go out”
The barren brown hills of SimCity 2000, dotted with random trees.
The Oakland Hills seen from the east. They are also brown, barren, and randomly dotted with trees.
Being in the East Bay is a key to understanding why SimCity 2000 looks the way it does
You ever wonder why the terrain in SC2000 is dull brown and dotted with random trees? Because that's what the hills actually look like in Orinda, where the game was made!

Efficiency is highly overrated; goofing off is highly underrated. Regularly scheduled sabbaths, sabbaticals, vacations, breaks, aimless walks, and time off are essential for top performance of any kind. The best work ethic requires a good rest ethic. #excellentadvice
I stumbled upon a streaming TV channel that runs Columbo 24/7, and now I see that Amazon Prime has 7 seasons of uncut Columbo episodes.
So basically, what I'm saying is, if you need me, I'll be watching Columbo.
Game Informer is back, baby! As someone who spent a bit of time trying to find a new home for the once defunct pub (and having no success), I am beyond delighted to see someone was smart enough to snatch this property up and hand the reins over to the team.
