I am unsure what stage the process is in (I think early), but generally for most of NAMEs position papers, etc. a group is selected/appointed by the NAME board. The original guide was written by members with significant experience and I doubt that would differ now.

Hey Casey, the NAME is in the process of revisiting the manner of death guidelines. There are definitely some categories that can be difficult to follow/interpret since not every case follows the rules, but it is a wonderful resource for a multitude of cases.
