Having to fire people because they have less than a year in, having to fire all DEI employees, having to fire everyone who is not “ in line” … holy shit… anxiety to the max and the public not get it.
They have employees hired 11 months ago… they moved, got housing, got their kids' schooling, and now they are being terminated. Where do they go? Heartbroken.
They are safe, in a higher position, but can not protect their people who need it. They are absolutely disgusted and speaking may jeopardize then, but by God, they are heartbroken.
I know a federal employee, and it has been the hardest week of their career.
Please educate yourself on what is being done to the lower paid civilian employees. Please, they work and live to help all. Veterans included. Educate yourself on what is really happening.
I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here.
They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues, gurdwara, and temples.
They may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes, and are good neighbors.
In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country. We’re scared now. The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals.
