I’ve been away for a long time but if anyone’s still out there…

I beat cancer.

I’m actually not sure. It’s in pretty good condition compared to some of the others so I don’t think it’s very old. Maybe 20-25yrs based on some of the others from the same batch.

It’s a very sinister story about two consciousnesses battling for control of one body - the protagonist and the twin he absorbed in the womb!

Last one for tonight- a bawdy song about farting

(It’s in a Kurt Vonnegut book, so therefore this is high culture, no judgement)

I’m fixing old voice recorders for a project. They often come with old tapes left in, so when they shudder to life I get a tiny glimpse of a stranger’s life.

I’ve accidentally become an archivist of disembodied voices and fragments of stories.

In case you’re as curious as me:

I’m HUGELY interested in the psychology of spookiness. I’m currently in the (very early) planning stages of a creative project about it. So if you’d ever like to share your stories and/or theories I’d love to talk about it with you

Did you (or your neighbour) ever spot her again?

Tell me about the weird thing that happened to you to that you’ve never been able to rationally explain. Hauntings. Premonitions. Mysteries.

Even the most level headed and skeptical people I know have a story that starts with ‘I don’t believe in that sort of thing, but…’

Pleeeease tell me yours!

The folding into itself is such an interesting detail. Did you get the impression it was some kind of intentional appearance or do you think you were seeing some kind of left over energy?

Oh wow! That’s both spooky and sweet. It’s quite funny to think of her haunting your neighbour’s house then realizing the gifts were at yours, and coming for a nosy!

The Mari Lwyd blessing song

When my daughter was diagnosed we sent copies to extended family and teachers because it does a great job of explaining new ideas. Very accessible without feeling childish (a lot of books aimed at young people with autism felt like they’re aimed at six year olds). Glad you liked it too!

You should definitely read it then! The audio book version is on Spotify if you subscribe to that.

It definitely makes you see your life through a different lens! I empathize with your daughter, diagnosis is daunting. It sounds like she’s got the right person on her team though x

We really like ‘A different kind of normal’ by Abigail Balfe.

It’s written for adults but ‘why can’t I just enjoy things’ by Pierre Novellie made some things click in my head - he was late diagnosed and talks about how he learned to mask and cope as a kid without knowing that’s what he was doing.

You’ve gotta make bad comics before you can make anything good. But you also need to be delusional about how good they really are to keep going. Keep the fire alive.

This Christmas Eve, may even your dingiest alleys be blessed with a visit from the crocodile of hope.
