Seen on some social media feeds. Maybe made by students at UT? Anyway, this is all in response to the president of the University of Texas who has made a new task force for curriculum on campus.
You won’t hear about this in the. Western media - 50 boats sailing to Gaza on 31st August and 4th September globalsumudflotilla.org
"We’re creating something even more dangerous to the country: A masked monster of a law enforcement agency, one uniquely unsuited for its new power, authority, reach, and funding levels."
"What we are doing in Gaza is a war of extermination: indiscriminate, unrestrained, brutal, and criminal killing of civilians,” [former Prime Minister Olmert] said."

Friendly reminder that our Spectral Remix RFP closes June 1 -- if you do art/media/design and are interested in the haunted quality of remix practice (incl. AI etc) please do send a proposal our way!
Funny because it’s true
Winning at everything!
It's not clear how the news media can continue to call what Israel is doing a "war." Don't they have enough letters left to spell "genocide?"
(below an image of Pedro Pascal) “I can't think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.” - Pedro Pascal
I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky

You mean to tell me banning affinity group graduations, handing over school records to the DHS gestapo, cracking down on protests, and dismantling DEI didn't appease this fascist dictator?! I'm shocked I tell you. /s
Cover of Disaster Nationalism: Tsunami and Civil War in Sri Lanka by Vivian Y. Choi. The cover is an abstract image of swirling black lines that resemble an oncoming storm, with a background that has a gradient of a brown yellow at the top and burnt orange at the bottom.
We have many exciting new titles coming out this May, including "Disaster Nationalism" by Vivian Y. Choi @vivvychoi.bsky.social . #AsianStudies #Anthropology

Carl Sagan when asked, "Are you a Socialist?"
“Viewpoint diversity!” What a euphemism they’ve invented! Rest of the world calls an authoritarian government pressuring universities to staff them with its supporters with other names: Nepotism, clientelism, patronage…
"the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia is not a technical abstraction. It is not about some theory of government functioning. It is about the president’s use of secret police to abduct a man from American soil and send him to a foreign gulag."
This Tufts student was grabbed off the street, cuffed and taken out of state solely because she co-wrote a completely respectful oped in the student paper.
And Rubio’s State Dept now admits they have nothing more damning than that.

Fixed it for you, New York Times.
The Supreme Court ordered the administration to "facilitate" the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly taken to El Salvador and remains in custody there.
A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.
Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.
