'You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.'
At this stage we must ask ourselves: "Is the Pope a Catholic?"
Truly astonishing. Get this guy out of here
Oh look, I think a significant number of protestors are chancers jumping on a genuine crisis, but I think he's wily enough to know that the framing he used has a wider blast radius than his target.
*non-parent, I meant...
There is, but this is a terrible framing. Taxation in general is a wealth transfer. If we accept this framing, should I subsidise child benefit as a parent (I mean, of course I should, but you see the problem...)
There goes that theory... :)
They don't, but our approach to suburbs around the M50 isn't nearly as sustainable as it might have been.
I'm not sure where he lives, but if he's in a suburb, he's not doing as much heavy lifting as he thinks...
remember during the gorton and denton byelection where @lucympowell.bsky.social tried to smear the greens as pro date rape?
labour are pro-rape. they are pro the raping of trans women
remember that whenever you go to the ballot
this is called 'v-coding' and happens when we're put in male prisons
This was my thought too - especially if instagram has access to your image library (and mistakenly thought the crack was in a wall)
The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

Every single person who says "Ireland for the Irish" adds a silent invisible asterisk that leads to a footnote that says "Except Irish travellers"
In the UK we call them lifts but in the US they call them elevators, because we’re raised differently.
Sharon Osbourne confirms plans to join Tommy Robinson march to unite the UK
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time
Reminds me of a time I went to a White Stripes gig years ago and the lad I went with informed me of the name of every single song as it started, as if I didn’t already know.
I guess the false assumption is that everyone is in a boat.
Or something decent...
I don’t even have words for this.
Loo Reed?
I think it’s even worse; they capitulated to people who were adjacent to the protestors, having a “productive meeting”, and thought that would have an impact. It would be like negotiating with someone who coincidentally had the same day-job as a captor and wondering why they didn’t get the hostage.

On the Muslim Sisters of Éire Facebook page. Totally normal protester behaviour. Definitely great to support people like this
They attacked the Muslim Sisters of Éire, one of the kindest and mostly welcoming groups out on the streets of Dublin providing meals to the unhoused.
Fuck every single one of these rat fucks.
