I think the greatest trick for getting good at creative work i know is - finish making as many mediocre things as possible. Just finish stuff, again and again. Share it or don’t, but put a bow on it, put it aside, make the next thing, repeat.
100% I've said this before, but learning to say a project is "done enough" and moving on and also just stubbornly continuing to make shit even if it isn't good are more important than being the world's best draftsperson.

I also don't care about power scaling and who is smarter than who because I think that side steps the core of everything, which is the characters' relationships to one another. I think that's part of why some fandom predictions or expectations fall flat for me
