They’re selling them to push the ownership and maint costs off to a 3rd party where they can essentially pay over time with the rate plus x% scheme. Regulated utilities are a sham all the way around and consumers poor management of the infrastructure is going to cost us dearly one way or the other.
Not saying that you’re wrong… but there is an underlying issue. Consumers needs to get regulatory approval for any rate hikes. By not asking over time, they’ve backed themselves in to a corner. They would never get that kind of cash that they need to update and upgrade the dams. /1

I personally would agree in an academic environment. I do use languagetool for my Spanish writing, it tends to does much less re-writing and more explaining why it’s wrong.. I’m usually writing instructions for native speakers to follow. I would not use it for something my name actually goes on.
Do you consider proofreading tools like language tool or grammarly Gen AI? Every year hubby and I rehash this entire topic before the semester starts as he’s revising his syllabus. Every year a student wrecks my position that AI is not 100% satanic. Ha
