Mollie Hemingway's new Alito book, a gushing hagiography of the Court's most open partisan, reveals the depth of right-wing fantasies about leftist violence. Fascinating look at the threats a movement premised in grievance but in complete control has to invent talkingpointsmemo.com/news/alito-h...

“Mexico’s national security law forbids foreign agents … from operating in the country w/o prior authorization by the government. American officials working directly with state-level authorities w/o federal approval would be in direct breach of the Constitution.”
Seems sub-optimal, this situation.
Ah, the old military advisor canard.
Every once in a while I have to be reminded that a fairly small but loud part of the population is completely unhinged.
George Washington required his troops to be vaccinated against smallpox.
without creating massive instability?
people or 14% of the US population so Bovino is suggesting we deport all of these folks even those who are naturalized and permanent residents and then 50 million more people who are natural born citizens. Who do you think he wants to throw out? Also, where the fuck do you send 100 million people
Bovino saying there are 100 million people to deport means deporting just under 29% of the US population. There are maybe 11-12 million undocumented folks and about 2 million on temporary status. There are about 35 million immigrants who are naturalized or permanent residents. That's 49 million
Only a truly insane person would believe this.

A takeaway from this article about a guy making money with an AI-generated "MAGA hot girl" is that of all his attempts it worked best because
-MAGA men fell for it (or were so desperate to believe that they didn't care)
AND
-Liberals posted many negative comments/quotes, boosting it in the algorithm
Every major war until WWII had more casualties due to disease than combat.
Every war until WWII.
Goddamn that's just beautiful.
Just the dumbest people on the planet who don't know the first thing about military history or biology and think they are geniuses for no discernable reason
WWI wants a word dipshit.
Hey everybody! I am taking the helm of this classic American institution with @theonion.com and want to know what you fine folks would like to see from us.

He is stretching the timeline on the Vietnam war beyond direct U.S. military involvement so it hilariously sounds like he’s saying: cmon the communist Vietnamese kept it together for decades to win, why can’t u

"Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows lasting results in an early trial: Scientists caution that more research is needed, but nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later."
My bill, the Restoring Judicial Separation of Powers Act would, among other things force SCOTUS to provide written, signed explanations of all their decisions. casten.house.gov/imo/media/do...
It would also use Congress’ power under Article 3 to limit SCOTUS’ appellate jurisdiction and move much of that to a randomly selected panel of Senior Circuit court judges. In combination, that would effectively eliminate SCOTUS’ ability to act as a political, rather than judicial entity.
Authoritarianism is, at its core, performative and aesthetic. US autocrats who, not only do not recognize fictional, satirical characters, but who emulate them, are telling us who they are. They are frauds intending to deceive. Do not let them.
If you are as infuriated as you read this as I am, know that Congress not only has the power to fix the abuse of the Shadow Docket but also that the legislation is already drafted. We just need to get it to the floor. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...
Really gotta emphasize this: the targets & requirements in the Clean Power Plan were *so* modest, *so* conservative, *so* unambitious that *the power sector met them anyway, in the course of normal market operation*. The regs would have had basically no effect at all relative to the status quo.
