I am loving the #propellus2025 AI professional development. This is the training educators need to adapt to the changing times. I loved our opening talk from @gerigillespy.com about how we have to put the human in the AI and help kids foster its creativity.

They know my routines. I would say realistically though I ask for coffee way more than I say do your lunch count.
My title school does the same with Halloween costumes. We have a full closet that kids pick out from if they need one. They just talk to our counselor about it first thing on party days.
Do you remember passing out valentines when you were younger?
I teach 2nd grade at a title one 🏫. Each year I have many students who don’t get to participate in passing them out due to their families not being able to afford them. Can you help with some?
Thank you🫶🏻

One of my coworkers is retiring from #teacherlife with 41 years. Last night I painted her dog as a gift - he is a school therapy dog! She gets it in May but I have two more leaving this year to make.
I print off free files on cardstock, color and let them use candy leftover from parties. It helps because you can have it ready in minutes. Another trick is buying it the day after and getting the non candy options. #teacherhack
Working on counting to 20 by playing @Lorcana With my 5-year-old #gamerdads
Today I wished two neighbors a merry Christmas by mulching and bagging their yards. One is elderly and had heart surgery, the other just moved in and did not have a lawn mower. #PayItForward
The families I teach were very grateful this year! I had almost $90 in gift cards that I then used to slim down my classroom wish list. I got snacks, more fluorescent light covers and a new puzzle. I did get a small want for myself but almost all went back to the class. #EducationMatters
Anyone else loose access to some Hulu content all of a sudden? Shows I normally watch on Disney Plus are no longer available. I have checked privacy settings and this started yesterday when it asked for me to allow location services while using the app on a tv?!
My secret? Encouragement and lots of instruction on phonemic and phonological instruction. My own children have speech issues and I use those skills and the book Equipped for Reading Success to help them close the gap. #thankful
For instance I have had 3 years of home schooled and online students who have NEVER been in a school in 2nd grade. Our team gets them rolling, learning their alphabet and reading. They never make grade level - but they go from reluctant to full blown readers who will try.
She looks at my roster the last three years and says they really did it to me - then is amazed by how well they succeed in the end.
Unusual conversation yesterday. During #Covid I became a fully remote teacher and went to a new school to free up classroom space. I have been there 5 years and our reading specialist said she was amazed by my ability to get students who struggle moving and reading.
These were made for our staff appreciation day! We have to give credit to all those who help the school run. /2
Nothing says Christmas like old family favorites. These are my Grandma Fox’s Cathedral Windows. This batch has a trial with a dash of coconut on top! #holidays
Just got out of Wicked and it is just as powerful as Broadway. I have seen three times and the wife four when it has come near our state. Only sad point was the 10 minutes of commercials and 10 of previews making it a 3-hour movie! #wicked
A little #cat fun as we decorate the tree.
All the adults in earshot bust out laughing and saying this is the quietest game ever. I find them all by declaring dessert time and start dishing out homemade cherry pie.

While at Thanksgiving I go downstairs and I see two of my children are hiding so I ask who is the seeker? Apparently cousin Kk is. When upstairs I find out Kk is also hiding and they have been doing this for 30 minutes. 1/2
Our Thanksgiving Break started today and I finally put up holiday decor and put on music. They were the quietest and most productive ever. I hope this lasts - we have 14 school days left his semester!
Today we celebrated friends and family with a gratitude feast. We made beef stew, homemade butter and vanilla pumpkins pudding.
How awesome is this! We go to hold a rotten dinosaur egg as part of our history unit! This local rock hound found it in Missouri on private land so he was allowed to keep it.
Today we learned about old dolls and made our own out of yarn! Interesting check in shoe tying and dexterity skills.
Hard at work on my sick day. It is my double plan so I am losing a ton of time! So while my sick child rests I am working on my Yearbook uploads, creating a custom book cover with 18 self portraits and doing a LETRS training.
Reminds me of Light Up the Learning Brain - we are doing it as a book study in my school.
We started #dungeonsanddragons on Friday. Each month we try out different games! The group found a mimic by listening for a hear beat. Luckily no lost an ear when leaning in! 5 2nd Gradeds are playing and I develop the story off of their rolls. #edchat
Today was a fun one. I am teaching Science at Church and we learned about Moses and his wicker basket. My daughter went all in on making her own clay version after the lesson about water! Pretty good for 5.
Yes! I even run an after school SEL program based off of play therapy.
