Went with the Swiss family I lived with in college on a skiing holiday in Graubünden. The family spoke German, French and English, but they couldn’t understand the ski lift operators, who spoke Romansh. Have you been there? Cool spot to see that in action. I wonder how much it’s changed in 30 years.

I saw the miner thing but it didn’t track. Reminded me of Italian slang cumpari, which became goombah or coomp – “my coomps” – in the US.
