looks like ticketek's been hacked
The boat ramp at Fisherman's Paradise, NSW. Most of the image is dominated by a gum tree lined creek we are looking across. On the other side is a thin strip of muddy land separating the creek from a lake, which we can see through the trees. Beyond the lake are some very largel gum tree covered hills. In the foreground is a raised flat area about 2x4m to the right of the boat ramp (the ramp isn't visible, I was standing on it). On it a seating bench looks diagonally out onto the creek. Next to it we see the trunk of a tree which is hanging out over the water. On the left is a swing on a rope which is attached to said tree. The overall feeling of the picture is one of stillness and peace.
Some photos I took in 2000s actually good. The Canon 5D DSLR made me think about what I was doing vs phone image blitzkrieg mode.
I used to play here as a child. The ashes of my ancestors are here. When I visit, I sit and remember. It deserved a thoughtful image created with care. (see alt text)
A baking tray that doesn't look like anything but baked cheese
I didn't know this was possible, but I made a lasagna with too much cheese in it.
well it's time for another episode of
`brew install ghc`
It's the Slopocalypse
Here we go again
St George (an Australian bank) has had an incredibly annoying web site for literally decades.
* pops up in a new window when you log in
* requires _two_ passwords which throws any decent password manager for a loop
* no actual 2FA
* insanely short inactivity timeout
Not sure why I persist with it.
Damn, it's April already?
Ever just want a day off from literally everything and everyone? Reached my ambivert limit.
A crocheted square 25x25cm, yellowing colour, lying flat on a black table. The stitches resemble tiny seashells.
Made a nice blanket square for charity. These will be stitched together by a mate from work. #crochet
Feeling a bit like when Marvin The Martian has something blow up in his face
probably the most useful thing I've ever read on prompt engineering. I've now integrated this into my subagent based workflow (which I keep in git). www.reddit.com/r/PromptEngi...
This stuff feels like voodoo to someone who started in c and assembly, but I suppose it will feel as natural (with sufficient use) as some of C's fun superpower quirks
if you're an older person who finds words like mogg and maxxing annoying, just starting using them. people over the age of 30 have the superpower to end trends by simply adopting them
About 10 years ago I invented a mobile game now called Hext. I built a prototype mobile web version in Javascript and showed a mate who turned it into a proper mobile app and kept updating it. It's a simple timekiller in the spirit of 2048. Give it a go! apps.apple.com/us/app/hext-...
"Prior to Tuesday's protest, NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley encouraged those planning to attend the rally to reconsider.
"Think again," she said during question time at parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
"Because you are deliberately antagonising the NSW Police."
Oh get fucked.
Hm, looks like Windows is still hot garbage
i should probably apologise in advance to the coworker i just introduced to #factorio

Its ok to vibe code Makefiles
In other news TIL that the water in mucus comes from your blood, so don't forget to hydrate if you're making a lot of it.
I could do without the prolonged paroxysms of violent sneezing every damn morning. Feel like im gonna crack a rib doing this.
Did you do it one by one though? And does this include peeling time?
Best selling 12inch single of all time
in other news i think i finally grok typeclasses... went back to #Scala and futzed around, getting our AI to explain some stuff. Scala3's typeclass syntax is nice, it's more clear what the implicit behaviours are for. I now see the relationship to extension methods. Looking forward to this in #Java!
this is really important to understand where #Java is going www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz7O...
This old sign on King Street, Newtown, shows the attitude of the designers of the road layout. Crazy that in 2026 it's still a traffic sewer.
It's time to remove the clearway and return space to the community.
A meme that says “Ingress Player: It’s a game where you make triangles to beat the enemy team.” The response is “Me:” indicating that the person isn’t interested. The Ingress player next says: “You can also get some PokéStops in Pokémon GO if you get to L12” to which the response is a screenshot from Rick and Morty, where Morty says “You son of a bitch, I’m in”
The tale of how I started playing @ingress.com
I guess it stuck long after as I am nearly L16 for the third time
