joined-up cycle network in London, and every town and city in the UK.
Now wouldn’t that be something to celebrate.

Me with the paper
My face with daughter with paper in front of her face
This piece is about the importance of a full cycling network, and how that really comes into focus when cycling with children, because you don’t want to take any risks.
D is excited to be in the paper and asked why she couldn’t have her face in it - but we all know … /4

Pavement parking is dangerous to wheelchair users, visually impaired people and parents walking their children to school. Write to your MP telling them to vote on a crucial Gvt amendment to reclaim pavements for pedestrians.

An image of a person with a pushchair down a residential street near inconsiderately parked cars. The person is wearing striped clothing and walking past a black car. The setting includes brick buildings and a view of houses on a hill in the background.
It's happening! 📢
On Tuesday, MPs will consider an amendment to enable local leaders to ban pavement parking in their area. We need you to help us get this amendment on to the Bill.
Ask your MP to agree to Amendment 265 when it's considered on Tuesday: https://bitly.livingstreets.org.uk/4tMU2Uq
This comes as news from LBC shows Met basically aren't following up hit & runs against cyclists. Criminal drivers are clearly considered by many police as 'unfortunate but not a priority'. The consequences of that approach to society are horrific.
HT one of the good guys @andy-cox.bsky.social !
If you are a Councillor, please watch this.
It happened nearly 50 years ago in the Netherlands. The arguments against restricting traffic were the same as those made today and were proven to be wrong.
Many cities would greatly benefit from a circulation plan.

Thank you for your courage to publicly address abusive language.
Whenever I see a car with a "dirty" VRN plate I think, "there goes a driver who wants to break the law & not get caught. I wonder what else they're up to". Some may think it a small thing, but it's corrosive. Many would probably be horrified to have their car seized for it but it should happen more.
When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.
Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform
Vision zero takes account of everyone being capable of making mistakes, and the system takes account of that so a mistake by a child crossing a road or by someone driving along it does not result in death or injury. Hence road rules like speed limits.

More people are walking and cycling as fuel costs rise, but women risk greater social exclusion without affordable alternatives.

Car-free streets on a summer evening feel like you’re on holiday.
Well it’s great to see there are streets that are car-free on normal days too, bringing a holiday vibe to proceedings … 4/4
Oh Bluesky hive mind - I’m looking for recommendations for heat pump/battery/solar consulting for my London Victorian era home - I’d like to swap out gas boiler for heat pump, ideally have a battery and either have solar or definitely be able to go there in the future
A picture of a Range Rover driver parked in a bus stop whilst a cyclist cycles passes by in the middle of a busy road
Lots of London boroughs continue to prioritise the convenience of Range Rover drivers over the safety of Londoners. This is @rbkc.gov.uk who shamefully removed a cycle lane here.

106 vehicle hit-and-runs on cyclists in London in 2025 - zero arrests. Only prosecutions involved 4 drivers coming forward voluntarily after leaving scene says @lbc.co.uk news. "Absolutely unacceptable" says our senior policy officer, Tom Bogdanowicz, in response: www.lbc.co.uk/article/cycl... ...
