"But
How would you ad-dress a Cat?
So first, your memory I'll jog,
And say: A CAT IS NOT A DOG."
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Calcutta...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, Ohhh Calcuttaaaaaaaaaa...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Calcutta...
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, Ohhh Calcuttaaaaaaaaa...
Incidentally, and relevant to your interest, the first “grown-up” book I ever read by myself was the novelization of Return to Oz.
Yes, I own these. The only one I definitely read cover to cover is Grease 2. I will get around to the rest eventually. (And there are more I keep my eyes out for when I visit used bookstores.)
Paperback Novelizations of Grease, Grease 2, The Music Man, West Side Story, and Bye Bye Birdie
Or maybe one of these
Probably something from this series. youtu.be/wJ8jIIlSkMI?...
It's on the cast album!
I’m not sure which is more depressing.
I always assume those are bots gathering followers under false pretenses with the aim to eventually either seed right-wing ideas or reskin entirely when the time is right.
The closer we get to elections, the harder the bot farms work.
Just say hi to me next time, James.
I don't know that I have a great need to ever see a musical in an arena, but never say never.
As long as it's spectacular, I don't know that anyone cares.
Well, at least you can sit in the worst seats at a Wednesday matinee for under $100.
Center orchestra "platinum" seats are $943?! Who is paying $943 to see Les Misérables in 2026?
Tickets for the Les Mis Arena show at Radio City start at $110 in the 3rd Mezz!?!
"The Donkey Serenade" is my Roman Empire.
Happy birthday!
Kermit the Frog is WEAK on crime.
After I wrote my little review of The Bride Wore Boots, I was surprised to look at other users’ ratings and discover that by and large, Letterboxd users who love Barbara Stanwyck have absolutely zero appreciation for camp. Their loss.
Welcome (back) to Stamford!
And for some shows, it makes sense. The original Sweeney Todd album would have been terrible with a Lieberson approach. But does anyone really need a Victor/Victoria that plays like an audiodrama?
Not a rights issue at all. It's an aesthetic choice by the record producers. It's been a slow slide in this direction since Thomas Z. Shepard (who preferred the "more is more" approach in the name of storytelling) took over from Goddard Lieberson (who treated each song as an individual unit).
Plus, in the era of streaming, when everything is shuffled onto algorithmic playlists, the people want tracks with clear beginnings and endings!
👏👏👏
Extremely mixed feelings about buying food inside that subway station.
👏Bring👏back👏radio👏edits👏
I understand the value of complete cast recordings, but there are times when I miss the days of a simultaneous "highlights" release.
(This is about Chess.)
I’ve decided to start a university course about digesting the hero of time.
